Hello Wednesday. That used to be hump day. But that was when everyone I associated with worked M-F. See…that’s the best part of life, when you move on to a new chapter or new place, your reality changes to match what’s going on at the present time.

The end of a journey – UPDATE
Chad Brown.
Chad is on the last leg of his journey through this life. I didn’t know him well. I dealt to him periodically over the years and he was always a gentleman and there to play poker without all the drama and tension that some players create. Continue reading The end of a journey – UPDATE
Move to the Trash
I opened this page and the first thing that hit my thought was the ‘Move to Trash’ link, right beside the ‘Publish’ button. I guess that’s an option, pretend you posted but just move it to the trash instead.
Memphis Mojo at the Seniors & More
I admit to being glued to the WSOP Senior’s Event live streaming until Memphis Mojo busted in third place. And I was rooting for him to take it down. He had to survive 4,425 players to take it home and he survived 4,422 of them. Hells Bells! What a feat! I’m sure he will have some stories to tell on his blog so check it out. Gold bracelet time – Not
Not for me. I’m sitting out in the sticks, at home, tending to my little doggie-o Scout, Mr. Riot, and my son Dan — along with a few thousand other miscellaneous things. Every year about this time I start wondering if I will ever make the journey in to the world’s largest poker festival and put my full attention into playing for gold. Wahoo! I found a stack of old posts…
At one point I hosted my blog at Blogger.com and when PokerWorks was absorbed into the PokerNews family, the programmers wanted to run it in WordPress…so we did. The original blogging — when I was dumb as hell about setting up a website but did my own, I simply loaded each new post into one l-o-n-g page. I had the backup for that since it was all on my computer and then published to the web.
Birthdays and Mom’s day
Let’s see, Riot turned 10 weekend before last. I had a birthday last weekend, my oldest son, Dan, had a birthday today. My friend and neighbor, Amy, has a birthday on the 12th. And tomorrow is Mother’s Day. To all of you, male or female, that helped, or are helping raise a child, here’s wishing you a happy Mother’s Day. Perhaps said child/ren will find it in their heart to shower you with love and devotion for all of your effort but I’m guessing not…at least not until they get older.
The 2014 WSOP is almost here and summer’s on the way
It’s crazy isn’t it? How time keeps slipping off into history and almost before you knew it was coming, it’s gone. The 2014 WSOP is almost here and the insanity will hit Las Vegas again for another six weeks or so of intense poker action, bad beats, good draws, with millions of dollars in the air, waiting to be grabbed by those that get to take home a WSOP gold bracelet and those that make it past the bubble. Continue reading The 2014 WSOP is almost here and summer’s on the way
Steam burns and cataracts
Wouldncha think that after cooking all these years, it would teach me to keep my fingers and hands away from sharp knives, broken glass, and hot pans/lids/etc.?
Of course, Dear, this isn’t your first day on earth or at the kitchen sink or the stove. Continue reading Steam burns and cataracts
The Blood Moon
I got to see it early this a.m. What a spectacular treat, especially from my spot in the desert. I almost missed it because I thought it was supposed to be red around 2 a.m. Luckily for me, I got a text from one of the truck driving duo and ran out onto the deck. There it was!!!
