Dreams…er…ahhh…nightmares

I was having one of those stress dreams when I finally slipped back into Sand Woman Land, early a.m. for the rest of the USA, late night for me. I was late for work. I found myself parking in a garage that attached to a giant building that appeared to have way too many floors and somehow the corridor I took ended up in a small bar and knew I was lost. I grabbed my cell phone and called my supervisor to tell them I’d be there in just a few minutes and YIKES!!! I looked down to see that I was wearing my uniform shirt (which goes down just below my tush) but wasn’t wearing a skirt or pants although I did have shoes. What I thought I would get done

I didn’t. What I still want to do before I sleep won’t get done either. My time stress has turned into a total blown out, ugly looking fracture. Bellagio has its name tattooed down my back and on my forehead, I ain’t going nowhere but the dealer’s box and when I crawl out of that after an eight hour shift, I don’t believe there are any electrical impulses going on in my brain. What would you like to do?

$5-10NLH, my first game of the night, Rico was in the 1s. We met at the tables about two months ago, in exactly the same role – he was playing, I was dealing. When I sat down several players were being shuffled out of the game to a main game and several more were coming in. I announced, “$6 for time please,” and chips started sailing out onto the greenfelt. Rico had $15 out and told me the change was mine. SWEET! Continue reading What would you like to do?

Just sounding off

I have pondered this more than once. Time to flesh it out here. A poker game is always going to be a bit of a strange mixture of events, happening simultaneously, filled with a lot of emotion. Not only is the mechanical side of the game a bit complex at times – because of rules and different games being played at different limits (sometimes at the same table in mixed games) – there are certain things that have to happen in order for poker to be the game it should be. Add people!
