Moving Forward

Card Player has made a big move in resolving the issues that I wrote about yesterday. You can catch Tony G.’s blog for an update. It’s refreshing to find there are still ethics in the business world.

On to the business of poker.

Before I dealt the cards in a 5-10NLH game, “Why are you giving me change when I’m going to call anyway?” from a player in the small blind that had put out a $10 chip for his blind. DOH!

Bobby’s Room hosted a $3,000-6,000 mixed game last night – full. Doyle Brunson was in the 1s and I hadn’t seen him in some time so I was happy that he’s still slamming chips and playing poker. Also Johnny World was in the game, haven’t dealt to him in a while and he’s one of my all time favorites going way back to the Mirage days. The night before it was $500-1,000 half NLH and Pot Limit Omaha – heads-up with Sammy Farha and Brian Townsend. I dealt through those games on two back to back nights.

My buddy, the Monkey AKA Jim, is in town just for a two night marathon/runner with his friend Glen – I think of Glen has my friend too, and Jim managed to slide into the 1s in a $30-60H game I was dealing. He started out slow but I think that’s because he’d just ordered his first drink. I came back on my break and Glen was standing behind him – said he was finished playing – and Jim was stuck…I left them. I didn’t hear a lot of noise from that part of the room later in the night so I’m assuming they left. The good news is they’ll always be back.

I scrambled around through the employee event at the WSOP on Saturday and managed a few pictures. I wanted to get the pictures up before next year’s event started so I’d better get on it. These are people I know and they all finished in the money:

Bobby is a dealer at the Palms.

Chad deals at MGM.

Larry deals and plays at Bellagio with me.

Charley Ng used to deal at the Palms, some of you may have seen him on TV dealing. Now he plays poker and does it quite well.

And after I left the Rio that night, I found this beauty out hanging in the sky, just waiting for an appreciative eye.

And it’s early a.m. to the rest of the world and turning into late night for me. G’nite Sister Moon.
