Tomorrow, the 5th, marks a big day

I will start early, about 5 a.m. or so, and head North to Hyman Place. I’m picking up the mother of my new granddaughter to be. A trip to the hospital – induced labor – and hopefully by noon there will be a sweet little angel lying snuggled next to mom. I can hardly wait. I get the best part, picture taking, support, and probably a few tears – because I’m like that. So congrats are due…to me of course. Congratulations, Granny!

No Turks & Caicos for me

I won’t be heading towards the Bahamas this year as previously planned. I really don’t have any feeling about it one way or the other. I can say I’m happy to miss the hurricane season. I can also say this first year could be a total, deal ’til you drop, hectic little venture. But it could also be a lot of fun and plenty of E/O’s. Oh well. I just have to wait to hear it from people that got to go. Continue reading No Turks & Caicos for me

The end of the family reunion tale

The whole of it is that family reunions are supposed to be exactly that, family getting together to spend time away from the rest of the world and settle comfortably into each other’s lives for a few moments in time. Those few moments are treasured, brought out now and then to hold once again to bask in the sharing, that feeling of complete unity, that part of our history that makes life just feel damn good. Piece of Cake – stabbed by the damn fork

I have most of everything back in working order. How wonderful! From chaos and possible death thoughts (for the computer, thinking the final straw would be for it to kill itself and deprive me of the pleasure of stomping it into the pavement after I dropped kicked it through the door of the coach out onto the pavement), all’s well in Linda’s multi-tasking world. My hair is still intact

but the computer’s laying on the floor with giant stomp marks all over, pieces of mother board are stuck in the ceiling, the hard drive is buried in the wall…just kidding. I’m in the after shock of backing up files, setting up a new pc, getting ready to try Fujitsu tech’s recommendation for blasting Windows Vista out of my regular laptop. UGH! What a complete waste of two days. My brain feels hammered. I always have one more pc than I need…just in case. It’s a damn good thing. Back soon with pictures and more life stories and a little poker thrown in for good measure. Anyone in the market for Window’s Vista Ultimate upgrade? Send me an email if you are…*sucker*

An upgrade to windows vista

has me cursing and wishing I’d used a lot better sense. Perhaps if I was drinking wine on a daily basis, I would have used better judgment. I’ve tried to do a system recovery and revert to my old operating system, but alas, I hit a Fujitsu error just as it starts. *beats face into wall* More later when I’ve cooled down.

The House that Ken built – the Family Reunion

Although Ken did build his house – so did Kevin – there’s so much more to building a house than just putting up a foundation and walls with a roof. Although Vicki is very industrious and a large contributing part to the marriage, the house displays mostly Ken’s personality. He’s got a very dry sense of humor and even though we threatened to kill each other when we were younger, we are very fond of each other now. I truly cherish the time I spend with him (even when he’s trying to bluff me in the family poker game :-)). Continue reading The House that Ken built – the Family Reunion
