Curious
There’s been a lot of noise lately about men playing in Women’s Only Tournaments. I don’t have an opinion on whether or not there should be women only tournaments. I do know why they were started. It’s a marketing thing, most of you think it’s to get women into playing poker (yes, that’s a huge part of it), but I believe it was also to make sure a man could make it to the tournament, if he could get his wife interested, and playing…WOW! Couples that play together – sometimes stay together? Continue reading Curious
Just Rambling on
I will be spending plenty of time up at the old digs – probably until Monday or Tuesday when the Refurbished D3 will be arriving via UPS from Salt Lake. That little piece of wizardry is what connects the router and modem to the satellite. The D3 searches and stows, shows the status of the signal, and who knows what else. But that may not even be the problem. Continue reading Just Rambling on
stuk in hell
My Motostat quit staton early yesterday a.m. I’ve been out of service for over 24 hours. Right now I’m posting from the iPhone while Ashley from satellite world is checking out the “moto”. More later.
A short update on the CC scam
I made it to the CU today, signed all the paperwork, while my guy Riot kept me busy entertaining him at the same time, and had a chance to visit with CU notary about the how and whys of CC thievery. She asked if I had purchased anything at Best Buy – yes I have and do, but not a frequent type of thing. Then she asked if I paid at the pump with my CC. Sure. Survival of the mentally insane
I survived the day. Whew! The new guy that did my taxes is a poker player…imagine that! I just had a suspicion he wasbecause Carmen Bates recommended him to me. Burt – he plays $30-60 H at Bellagio and has been around quite some time. A great guy, he’s the kind of player a dealer loves to have at the table, never says much, always upbeat, a steady tipper, and he says ‘hello’ when he sees you approach the box. Can’t beat a deal like that. Continue reading Survival of the mentally insane
Did you forget to take your meds?
That was the title of a spam email that’s been drifting in a lot lately. Do these people know me? Frankly, if I had those kind of meds, I think I’d be taking them. It’s another yarn filled with problems. It started like this – last year I sold the PokerWorks.com name, CHUNK!!! A lump in my checking account. Come tax time, the gent that normally does my taxes and I set up a date, I canceled and could never get back in touch with him. He’d been seriously ill and perhaps I should have really, REALLY tried to find him but life has a way of choking me to death with the hands of time. I really can’t get enough – now if I got a spam email and they could sell me some time, I’d be on the reply button in a heartbeat. Continue reading Did you forget to take your meds?
I can’t help but wonder
I never watch the news – unless I just happen to be somewhere that it’s on and that doesn’t happen but once in a blue moon. I don’t pick up the newspaper. It’s too damaging to my spirit to even try to fade through the blackness that surrounds our society as we race headlong in no direction and kill our children and selves as we blindly push forward forgetting there is no finish line. Continue reading I can’t help but wonder
