Survival of the mentally insane

I survived the day. Whew! The new guy that did my taxes is a poker player…imagine that! I just had a suspicion he wasbecause Carmen Bates recommended him to me. Burt – he plays $30-60 H at Bellagio and has been around quite some time. A great guy, he’s the kind of player a dealer loves to have at the table, never says much, always upbeat, a steady tipper, and he says ‘hello’ when he sees you approach the box. Can’t beat a deal like that. He covered every base for me, interest, refinance, gaming wins, website expenses, and all that jazz. I owe money, it’s more than I wanted to owe but quite a bit less than the high figure that kept jump kicking holes in my brain this last few months. His fee was more than reasonable. He’s an accountant and advisor, he’s downsizing his client list. D-a-y-a-m! I’m lucky he took me. So…no suicide for me, all of you perverts can stop holding your breath because I bet you’d love a shot at reading what I’d leave for a suicide note. HA!

The day seemed bizarre, nothing went the way I thought it should…but then I’m twisted, I expect things to just fall into place and behave.

I didn’t have any cash on me, I didn’t bring my check book, I expected to pay Burt with a CC. He doesn’t take them. ARGHHH!

I then planned to do a few things like exchange a floor mat, take my glasses back because I hate the new onesI just got, go to my Credit Union and fill out the papers on the compromised card – not necessarily in that order.

I drove down to the Credit Union Plaza on Sahara where a branch of my CU used to live. It’s not there now. OK, wasted time and diesel.

I went back up Sahara to Office Depot, took in the exchange floor mat, went back to look and they didn’t have the one I wanted. They even checked the back which (on paper) showed they had 25 in stock but they were nowhere.

I ran in to WalMart vision center and did find a few frame and ordered new glasses. Score one for Linda. WOO HOO!

I went up to Decatur and Charleston to another Office Depot, found the floor mat I wanted, and drove to Tenaya& Lake Mead part of town. Umnhhh! Columbus Day!My CUwas closed. More wasted time and diesel. No $$ for Burt today, no $$ for Linda today, no papers signed, and another project for tomorrow.

I’d been up since 7 a.m., it was almost 2 p.m. So I gave up. I went to the old house and sat around with my little buddy Riot where we kicked some monkey’s butts playing Cactus Bruce. I even brought him home with me for the night – he’s playing Cactus Bruce right now but he’s going to have to share with me in a few minutes…

Interesting comment on Duplicate Poker on yesterday’s post – go take a reading on it.

There’s monkeys to smack – lots of them…C U
