for the gal that used to stay up until 5 or 6 a.m. It’s midnight, my butt’s dragging. I made the trip into Vegas on Thursday to my dentist’s office to see the ‘waxing’ – that would be the way the new veneers, crowns, and magic would all go together to correct my bite. HA! Apparently the lab had picked them back up that a.m. because the matrix was off. I have no idea what that means. Oh well! Continue reading It’s late

The Busy Bee
That’s me! I’m off to Las Vegas tomorrow – that cuts a huge chunk out of the day. I have a few thoughts rambling around inside the twisted arterials in my head but don’t have the time or energy to spit them out. I’m opting out of writing tonight. I hope everyone finds a day of peace, warm sunshine on their shoulders, loves strengthening bond, and their dreams become reality while I’m away. Be back soon.
Shields UP!
The sun has been in control of the temperature as of late in my little section of life. RV shops sell a nifty little foil coated bubble sheet – by the roll or however many feet you want, in two different widths – and it is the coolest of kewl for cutting to fit your windows and you don’t have to glue it or tape it in place, the foil part of it allows you to just push it into the edges and pull the blind down. We’re all twisted, right?
When Greg and Amy came out to visit me last week and we dined at the Winery, we spoke of numerous things, the business that Amy is in, and the business that Greg and I are in. Some of it turned to the mind, what keeps us in places or puts us in places in our lives and why we find it all so fascinating. We were on the subject of poker and the mental game and I said that was what kept me fascinated with poker all these years, the people and the mind game. Continue reading We’re all twisted, right?
Another balmy day
here in the wind capital of the world. It’s gusting nicely, barely at ripple mode in comparison to some of the wind that has hit, but still there. Two days ago the wind hit out of nowhere, like a freak storm that blustered and snorted and then it rained for about an hour. The wind stopped. The rain came again late in the night, and the wind dried it all out the following day. Continue reading Another balmy day
Has it really been
22 years since I drove to Las Vegas, walked into the Golden Nugget, and applied to deal the last Grand Prix Tournament hosted there? I chatted with Frank Cutrona and Jimmy Knight, Jimmy was the day shift supervisor, and he sent me to the dealer’s box to audition. He got called away and had a full time dealer watch me deal a few hands of Omaha 8. When I got out of the box, he called me over and showed me how to put up the flop Vegas style. Hell…I was from Montana where the ‘splat’ – ‘spread’em out’ was ok. Continue reading Has it really been
It’s a day
that almost would lead one to believe that March did go out like a lion. It’s deceptive. There’s a slight breeze, the sun is warming the air, and it follows a hellerly awful storm we had on Friday night. The wind hit that afternoon, just as Greg texted me and said he and Amy were leaving Vegas and would see me soon. The ugly wind. It raged and screamed and brought a waterfall with it. The rain hit. The silt turned to quagmire as is always the case – Greg and Amy got to experience a teensy bit of it because I didn’t catch them in time to tell them to walk only on the gravel. I’m listening to it now Andrew, you guys are funny, in a twisted sort of way.

I’m stuck in the poker quagmire of quicksand hell. I played the SCOOP 8 game, painful to say the least. I did last to almost the $ but couldn’t complete a Deuce to 7 draw three different times when the limit was $800-1600. I did manage to make a 6 high straight 3 different times in this tourney by catching a 3 or 4 for an inside gut straight…Kee-Rist! I went out in the limit holdem round on the last act of defiance. I had a little over $3K left and slammed the last of my chips in a raised pot – until I was all-in preflop on the button – with 10-9D. I was up against A-A. Oh well!
Another tragic tournament attempt was the $33 6-max: I had Q-Q and ran into A-K. He hit twice. Flashbacks start of the last two times I picked up A-K in other tourneys and hit an Ace or King and my opponent had Queens and hit for a set – is that just a mind game that makes you wonder why you can’t get Queens to hold up but someone else can? I’ve found a lot of my big holdings – Kings, Queens – manage to get outflopped by one lone Ace, the only over card in my opponent’s hand gets there. I have the drugs in my hand and a glass of water…I’ll be OK in a minute.

My little vines are planted, I’m hauling more wheelbarrow loads of gravel along the new block wall and as ground support around the vines (don’t need a sinkhole starting in the silt in a good rain storm), and testing a way to give the vines support up the wall as they grow. They are about 2 feet from the wall due to the foundation.
There’s a lot of debris that needs to be cleaned up on the property overall – that wind does amazing things – and the yard project goes on.

Tonight is The Winery date with Greg and Amy – I’m really looking forward to it.

Tomorrow will prove to be a very busy day with the drive into Vegas and the plan to pick up a lot of my tools and items that have been at the old digs. And Riot’s coming home with me. Whoot! Riot’s always a good time. Maybe he will “catch that rabbit” someday!

Yes, Andrew, still listening. I’ve chuckled more than once. Thanks for the entertainment.
Another opportunity
This one slipped past my spam filter and ended up in the trash. Since it was sent to ‘undisclosed receipients’, I’m sure Kellyjames10@ymail.com won’t mind my sharing with you the opportunity of a life time: Continue reading Another opportunity
