Hosted by Steve Z. and Suzie and Howard Lederer, was a seriously gi-hugeous affair. I invited my share of people just to add to the noise and confusion but to my knowledge, only two of them made it – Suzanne met me there and I picked up Tony G. and drove there. Tipping is not a city in China! Part II
Certain incidences in poker – this is about tipping BTW – that stick out in my thoughts are pretty funny. Like when I first started dealing, it was at the Oxford in Missoula MT. It’s close to another lifetime ago. There were two tables there, one in the front of the establishment that ran almost 24 hours a day and was $1-2 limit 5 Card Stud, ($2 on the river only) and the other was in a back room that housed two pan tables also. The one in the back room was called ‘the big game’. That’s incredibly funny now after having dealt to the Corporation and Andy Beal.
Tipping is not a city in China!
Tipping: Let’s not even play hardball, let’s just hamstring it, rip out its jugular, eat its heart while its still beating, and spill its innards across the continents – possibly spew a few of them into outer space.
Route 66, Bellagio’s Conservatory
The latest theme is one that us oldies remember. Except I don’t ever recall seeing a Corvette in those days, even if it ran over me I wouldn’t have known what it was. I don’t think anyone in the areas I lived in, even knew what they were either. Click on the thumbnails. Continue reading Route 66, Bellagio’s Conservatory

Monday, Monday
I’ve been lost in between trying to sleep, sleeping a few hours, being tired as hell, wishing I could sleep, and nothing is coming together quite as it should. I’ve received sage advice, from more than one person, that it will take me awhile to fit back into a niche. Really? I like the night life. I like early a.m. I don’t like the glaring sun and all the confusion in traffic and speeding vehicles on their way to who knows where in the daytime world. Continue reading Monday, Monday
Just getting started!
I think I’m kinda feeling great over the people that have left me comments, a few ‘e’ cards, and emails, all expressing how much they will miss me or are thinking of me. Honest, I’m not really going anywhere that I can’t be tracked back to right here. I will still be very active with PokerWorks and blogging away with tales of my life and poker and people, filling up the pages of Tango. Continue reading Just getting started!
The end…or the beginning?
“We’ve been together a long time, Linda.” from Doug Dalton, the director of Poker Operations at Bellagio, as we sat in his private office on June 13th. Continue reading The end…or the beginning?
It’s already Friday?
It seems like Monday started a year or so ago. Every down feels like it’s eight weeks long. There are a few half hour sessions that seem to speed by – why is that? The ones that are fun and action packed move right along, the rest of them blend into a never ending skull session of facts and figures, body heat, room noise, people bumping into the back of my chair, and la-tee-da. Continue reading It’s already Friday?
A PotPourri – a few tangled thoughts
“She got out!” Agent Brown in The Matrix. I really like that one line. It strikes me asaparallel to a lot of things in life, mainly mine, when something could have been drastic, “She got out”. Look for more news on that on Saturday’s post here. Continue reading A PotPourri – a few tangled thoughts
