Cujo strikes again! And Poker!

Cujo – hidden inside the psyche of Scout – has struck again.  I am distressed!  I can’t help but feel it is my fault and I’ve been hashing and rehashing my part in it. This is Cujo Scout with Breck, my youngest grandson.

The picture implies that Scout is a calm, loving dog.

Breck and Scout

Not so a few hours ago.  Monte, one of the truck driving duo, came on property to pick up a few tools from my shed. We were talking as we walked across the yard, only he was behind me about 5 feet.  Scout went to greet him, he even patted her head as she went by him, that much I saw before I heard him. Then she whirled around and bit him. Broke the skin on his calf and managed to rip the front of his t-shirt – all in the span of about 2 1/2 heartbeats.

UGH!  I spun around, called her, she came right to me, and I put her in the house.

When she nipped Anthony last year, he had on jeans and she did tear his jeans but didn’t break through the skin.  This is her third ‘nipping’ and while I want her to protect the property, I don’t want her tackling someone that has been around and she knows.  If Monte walks down the fence line on their side, Scout will run down it barking at him at times, but not always.  But she also allows him to pet her when we are walking on their property.  Umhnnnnhhh!

I’ve tried to think out what would cause it.  The only thing I can come up with is that I have turned my back on the ‘nippee’ and was walking away with them following me.  Perhaps she sees that as a threat to me.  Another lesson learned on my side, I won’t let that happen again.

Weather in the desert has been crazy: windy, rain, chilly, hot, more wind.

Today is Mr. Riot’s 8th birthday.  Holy Kramolie!

It was on this day in 2005 that Bellagio’s new room remodel was finished. I put up a post.

Yesterday was a trip into Las Vegas to the dentist…don’t even go there…I’ve spent the last 5 years running in and out to the dentist.  Root canals, extractions, crowns, veneers, all in the name of correcting my bite.  It’s a long story…but maybe I should take the Cujo Scout approach and start biting and forget the rest of it. Another mold was made yesterday for a new night retainer.  This one is coming in from somewhere out of Las Vegas because my dentist believes the company does a better job so it will be two weeks before it arrives.  In the meantime, I have others.  I have collections of ‘mouth’ devices…none that could be used during oral sex so don’t go there either.

Until recently I had all the old molds (with hinges on the lower/upper jaw) that they used to send home with you to keep in case they were doing more work on that area of your mouth.  They don’t use them anymore.  I finally pitched them.

Let’s talk poker.

I’m a bit in awe of Daniel Negreanu’s hatred for Annie Duke.  It takes a lot of energy to hate someone that much and just think how draining it is for your own Chi. I’ve tried to reach back in memory and find the point that Daniel began to hate Annie.  Annie and Jennifer were very good friends for a long time, dealing to them both playing the same games at the Mirage, their consistent banter with each other, where Annie definitely out talked Jennifer a 1,000 to 1 and seriously knew how to abuse the word ‘Fuck’ in those conversations, and they even played at Bellagio in the beginning.

Where did it go wrong?  And why did Daniel take up the verbal ball and chain against Annie?  I have had the gut feeling it was because of something that was said about Jennifer. Today I went searching and found a thread on the old Rec.gambling.poker forum.  Read it, it’s a letter from Howard Lederer to Daniel in defense of Annie…kinda…sorta!

I do not understand hatred.  I do understand dislike.  But it’s so easy to distance yourself from those you don’t like…unless they are relatives, of course…so why not just move on?

I can’t help but wonder if part of Daniel’s continual Annie rant isn’t just for show, because it is so outrageous it’s like a ‘shock & awe campaign’ and people are dying to listen to it or read it.  If you haven’t had the full effect hit you in the face and explode off the walls, visit Daniel’s Vlog today! Lot of venom there, prepare to take deep, calming breaths afterward and release any excessive energy that you may have built up while viewing.

One thought…if Daniel had to sit on his hands, would he be able to express his views by voice and facial actions?  You be the judge.

Laters…

  1. Dogs are pack animals. You’ve got an alpha bitch. She has learned you are the alpha bitch — yes, we all knew. It changed because you could correct her and was the boss on walks — which she enjoyed. Get the duo to walk along and take control of Scout. Sit-heel-treats and they move into the pack.

  2. Hi, Kiddo. BDay to the eight year old rookie. Best to him.

    Ten Mile

PS: About four years ago now, I perverted a name following a lesser travelled thought path. I still feel I hadn’t made a mistake.

  3. Ten Mile, The rookie had a great time, two b-day parties in two days, how could it get any better than that? I admit to LMAO over your comment. You didn’t make a mistake.
