Poker and life

They seem to go hand in hand, but there are variables in each.  Lying in life is not a good thing and sometimes will cost you more than you know – in poker it’s OK, and expected.  Stealing can get you killed or put in jail or in serious jeopardy in life – but again, in poker it’s OK, and expected.  There are other differences too.  You can actually buy someone out of a car or a property or a contract…in online poker you ain’t buying anyone out of anything.  Ah-h-h…enough of that.

I played the Sunday Millions yesterday on one of my free tickets from the WBCOOP win.  I have to admit I didn’t play as well as I could have, I gave my last few thousand to a pair of pockets kings with j-10 off suit.  I also have to admit that I found the play of a lot of the others at my tables to be worse than mine.  There was no stellar, out of the ordinary play that would make me believe I was playing with a player-player.  I really need to rethink my approach before the next one.

I played the Full Tilt daily dollar tonight – multi-tabled three buy-ins.  Another wonder of wonderments, I raised with Q-Q and got reraised all-in (he had a butt load of chips over me but it was still early) by 6-6.  Of course I called.  He caught a 6 on the turn.  I was out of that one.  Another one I can’t even remember where/what/when…just out, out, out.  The last one I had some chips and cruised on through the numbers, and then sat card dead while everyone around me kept raising before I got a chance to.  Finally I picked up Ac-Kc in late position and UTG went all-in for around 16K – absurd.  Blinds were at 200-400 I think and I had about 4k left.  I called.  He had A-J off and just like it had eyes, a Jack pealed off on the flop.  I was out of that one.  I was chatting Glenda at the time on IM and I confess to some potty mouth text.

Had a trip into Vegas on Thursday and spent the night at dadparental’s place and that’s the start of his week to have his Riotness.  What fun.  I came back home on Friday and Riot lost a top front tooth over the weekend.  He’s missing some bottom front teeth already and I got an iPhone picture from dadparental of the smiley beginning of the ‘no teeth’ look.  Kids always look so damned goofy when their front teeth start coming out…lovable, but goofy.

I keep trying to get some order into my new home, still finding places to put things, boxes to be dug through, things to clean up, just feels kinda overwhelming at times.  The nice part of it is that if I don’t get through it today, or for a week or three, it will still be there waiting.  UGH!  Where are those little fairies that come in after you go to sleep and tidy everything up?

The truck driving duo made it in off the road today.  They’ve been fading the bad weather roads for about 5 weeks now.  A week in the desert will do them good.

I’m getting a dog.  Somewhere around the end of the month.  Maybe it’s a poker playing dog…umnhhhh!
