Almost Show Time

Not for me, but the boys that are waiting to carve out a niche in the history of the WSOP.  I can’t help but wonder if they are completely calm and relaxed, going nutzo, or in shell shock that it all starts to play down in a matter of hours now.

I haven’t started to pack my bags and toss in my glad rags…hell I don’t have any glad rags.  When I was dealing poker my shopping consisted of looking for black slacks, black shoes, and a comfortable bra that would be concealed beneath the ever depressing uniform disguised as a poker shirt.  Now I’m truly a hick from the sticks and I have blue jeans, comfortable elastic waist, relaxed knit pants, baggy tops and t-shirts, athletic shoes, and not a lot else to go sit the hours away watching people try to become the best of the best.  But I’m OK with that.  But I do need to get on the damn bag packing…no matter what I’m wearing, it has to go with.

I did get in a hike with Amy this a.m. – that makes four days in a row that we trudged out around yon beckoning hills and over the ever changing desert terrain.  Sometimes the ground feels almost like sponge and gives way a bit when stepped on, other times it’s hard, and with 4X traffic and quad runners parts of it are the finest dust you’ll ever see – over four inches deep in places.  We started at 7:30 and it was very brightly daylight, this beauty was hanging out over the hills we were heading too, as if she just couldn’t say goodnight, and she was HUGE!  And spectacular!

Anybody out there want to throw down a bet on the November Nine?  Check out this article for more info.

This Sunday is our PokerWorks Family Tournament and I’m opting out right now.  It would be great to have the tournament without me, so if everyone’s inclined, please play on.  I figure to be entrenched at the Rio, or maybe in sleep after it gets to heads-up play and they are on a break.  Anybody that plays regularly, ship me a comment as to whether you can make it or not, perhaps we should cancel until the following week?

Tomorrow I’ll post from Vegas.  I may even make a run for a Project City Center update while I’m in the fair city and the action is wrapped at the Rio.  Laters.
