Mom’s Day

I’d like to wish all of you men and women a Happy Mother’s Day.  A lot of men filled the role of mom so…*cheers…app-p-p-plause…whistles*

Somewhere I recently read a blurb on the internet that said most mothers wanted a drink, sleep late, and breakfast in bed – in that order.  Really?  I can’t remember having anyone bring me breakfast in bed.  I also can’t remember ever having missed it.  Maybe I’m not a real mom.

I am a real grannie though.

I took two days away from the virtual felt and broke down today and played.  I have to tell ya that online poker is my gig but it’s also the only thing I can think of that sends me into a swearing fit at times.  Yes, real grannies do swear!  Just not in front of their grandkids.  I did place in the $ in a tourney and picked up a few $ in a 7 Stud 8 game and gave those back when I played Omaha 8.  Pee-U!

Tomorrow – Mother’s Day – is my oldest boy Dan’s Birthday.  Happy Birthday son!

A week from tomorrow my son Josh, Jennie and Baby Rain will be flying in from Oregon to spend a few days with me.  If the weather doesn’t go to convection oven, I want to take a drive into Death Valley with them.

I’m missing my game playing buddy Riot tonight.  We had a long talk on the phone today.  He’s difficult to have a long talk with so it was very nice to get to visit with him.  Nothing like a Riot hug to make the day all better.

What will I be doing tomorrow?  I think I’ll play the PokerStars 1/4 Million as I contemplate how the hell one beats out 30K players…

See you there!

  1. Happy Mother’s Day, Linda! I’m posting at 5 in the morning, so that I can devote all my attention to my bride once she wakes up. The boys are planning to make her breakfast in bed (our daughter is at a sleep-over), and then she has slave labor in the garden planned for everyone!
