The Day’s Done and So Am I

It is about 2:30 AM and I’m dragging.  I really have no idea why. I did go out today and move a little gravel and tiles around but that’s no reason to feel as exhausted as I do right now.  I also played some poker.  I even seriously thought about changing my clothes at one point and heading to the Silver Nugget in downtown (kinda) Pahrump to see if I could find a poker game, but I didn’t get there.  Thinking was as far as it went.

Every now and then I think about doing that, going out and playing in a live poker game, and at some point I believe I will do it rather than just think about.  But who the hell knows when? I did manage to play some tournaments online today, too many of them really, and placed in three of them but they were non money tournaments, but they also have the possibility to have big money turns.

I played two of the Million Dollar Men free rolls, and managed to get through 14,700 players twice (top 300 win a seat – 15K max players and these tourneys are full in a heart beat) to win a seat into another tournament.  I didn’t realize that I couldn’t use the ticket I received for the second tournament.  Or I never would’ve played in it.  Apparently the person who came in 301st place will get my spare ticket.  I inquired to PokerStars support to find out why/what would happen to that spare ticket because I thought that I had another opportunity to play it next week, I don’t.

The Million Dollar Men thingy goes like this: the only way you can get into it is through a free roll.  Once you’ve won a seat, beating out 14,700 other players, you move to another freeroll that allows a maximum of 10,000 entrants, right now there are 8348 entries, and it pays 3,000 places, not much but hey, it’s a free roll.  The top 1000 entries get to move on to play the Million Dollar Men Final & Main Event Qualifier.  Out of the 1000 entries, the top three players get to play against the 6 Million Dollar Man.  Seems like a real slice of pie doesn’t it?    Beat 9 million players to try to beat 8 more.  I’ll definitely keep you posted.

And I took 50 of my frequent player points and played in a free roll to win a share of Ylon Schwartz and won a seat in that free roll.  The top 4000 places get paid and right now they’re at 3971 entrants in this baby, and it starts three days from now.  I’ve actually played these the last two weeks and managed to win $9 in one and $15 in another.  These actually have some pretty big money attached to them if you can place anywhere in the top 10 or so, and if you finish in the top 100, you get a piece of your million dollar man and his action at the final table.

Along the way I played in some other free rolls and I looked at so many poker hands today my brain is totally fried.  So along with the tile moving, the gravel throwing and the poker hand pitching, I’ve had it!  I hope the Card Fairy stays on Mars or wherever the hell she is.  I hope she keeps going her way and leaves me alone…it’s kind of fun picking up a hand now and then and actually winning the pot with it.

I don’t believe tomorrow will be a poker playing day, so while I contemplate and ponder the wonder of K-K managing to escape getting beat by A-Q today, I think I’ll put my head on the pillow.  Goodnight!
