Andy played Todd and Howard. He lost. From what I heard, he’s going home. He may play again today but I believe he’s done for now. Continue reading “Well, he can afford it!”

Andy, Doyle, Todd, and Craig
My first game of the night was table 7. Andy and Doyle. Todd, Doyle’s son, was sitting behind him. Andy’s had a sweater sitting with him every night. When I walked up to the table, his sweater said, “Yes, he does remember you. I read your site and really enjoy it.” Continue reading Andy, Doyle, Todd, and Craig
Andy Beal’s tracking with poker chips
On the Andy scene, he was playing Ted F. Andy takes the 4s and has the 1-2-3 seats locked up with racks of blue chips – $1. They form a barricade across the end of the table and I couldn’t stifle my curiosity so I asked Carmen about it when we had a few minutes together. She said she thought it was some way of keeping track of hands raised or hands that went to the flop or some sort of record keeping but she wasn’t really sure. The word was that by the end of this session, he was down about 2.5…Ugh!
World’s champion head-butter
Whether this was the expected registration or not for Bellagio’s Five-Diamond First Event Finalists, the room was very busy and games everywhere. Satellites were running for tomorrow’s tournament. Nice little buzz and lots of noise and chips going on.
Is there a light at the bottom of Marianas Trench?
There are times that I do a self evaluation and search through my being to see what I am, where I am, what the hell I think I’m doing, and how I got where I am. This search continues for days at times. It’s so intense it’s like looking for light at the bottom of the Marianas Trench. Lately I’ve found myself quite at peace with me. Well…enter the end of my night…table 1. Continue reading Is there a light at the bottom of Marianas Trench?
The anthill with amplified sound
Picture an anthill teeming with activity on a warm summer day and add SOUND. That’s Bellagio Poker Room right now. The noise alone overwhelms the senses. There seems to be no happy medium, either it’s too quiet or too busy. Continue reading The anthill with amplified sound
The never ending high-limit
This night found me dealing everything but a low limit game except at the very end of my shift when I got to relax and laugh through a $1-$5 7 Card Stud game. Continue reading The never ending high-limit
The freak of all freaks
A little catching up. On the 4th, I managed to deal to the Freak of all Freaks, J.C. Pearson. Truthfully I hope he reads this site someday or someone points it out to him and he takes a reading. He’s the subject of other posts here and in previous years. He hates the world, he hates life, he hates himself…Oh yes, I’ve listened to, “He’s just a good old boy away from the table.” So are wife beaters and child molesters. Continue reading The freak of all freaks
Andy had the corporation beat
My first game of the night was on table 1, $300-$600 Stud, the game was 4 handed and the conversation veered to the ‘big game’. This is the way it was stated from the players – I never asked any questions or said a word, just listened to the conversation. Continue reading Andy had the corporation beat
Ted Forrest spot checks the cash
I dealt the $3,000-$6,000 to Doyle Brunson, Ted Forrest, Eli Elezra. H-y-s-t-e-r-i-c-a-l! Doyle had a brick of $100 bills that were rubber banded into $5,000 bundles and then bundled together…he also had three sets of two brown envelopes that were taped together which held cash but were unopened. Carmen Bates (High limit brush) came to the table on an errand and Doyle threw all of it at her and asked her to ‘put it on account’. That would mean a trip to the main cage and all of it would have to be counted down. Continue reading Ted Forrest spot checks the cash
