Sundays are….

That’s a real can of worms isn’t it?  Sundays can be so much to so many.  Online poker players generally see it as huge poker tournaments at some of the best online poker sites in the world. It is a day of big guaranteed tournaments and cheap ways to get there, a day of playing the PokerWorks H.O.R.S.E. tournament (bi-weekly), a day of slumming and bumming at the computer and having your family cook for you and cater to your food-a-holic wishes…and make sure your HORSE tournament opponents know you are getting the good grub while you are playing.  Sorry about that, I was just thinking about the fresh garlic knots and wishing I had some. We are born – we live – we die!  Such a simple concept.  At the end of our lives, as the mainstream of humanity rushes on by, we are simply a statistic, sometimes recorded in health studies, sometimes recorded in the pages of history, but in most cases we are simple bodies that go about the task of every day survival until we become a statistic. The HORSE – and more

It’s time to start thinking HORSE…the gigantic tournament that our loyal group of players and PokerWorks Family likes to beat each other up play every other Sunday evening.  We’d love to have you come out and join in the battle, chat it up, and hopefully enjoy playing mixed games with us.  All the particulars:  Password – donkeys; time – 21:00ET; where – PokerStars; date – Sunday, February 8, 2009; cost – $5. + $.50.  Now on to the ‘more’ Continue reading The HORSE – and more

I was hoping to

write a positive note on poker.  I cannot.  Yes, my dear Monkey buddy, I have played, forgive me, Senor, for I have partaken of the evil delights of getting hands snapped again.  Two instances in Sit n’ Go’s that have now slipped into the poker sewer sludge but still create a bit of turbulence in the gray matter as to “How does it continue to happen?”  Continue reading I was hoping to

The poker sewer

It’s a continual barrage of ugly.  I signed up for 2 tourneys today on PokerStars, one was a $5+$.50 with $15K guaranteed and the other the Daily $30Grand.  I played in the $5.50 for around an hour and a half.  I stole the blinds once with K-10 off.  I never played a hand – first, it’s impossible to play 9-5, Q-4, 6-3, J-2, 2-3, 7-2 with an occasional A-4 off suit thrown in – in my opinion anyway.  I never threw away a winning hand.  I saw the flop once with 4-4, that was the only pocket pair I held.  I finally picked up A-J off in early position and decided it would be my all-in venture (and it was the first ACE FACE I’d seen) with blinds at $100-200.  I went all-in for around 1,300 and got called by 7-7.  Not to worry, the flop was perfect for his hand 5-5-2-7-A.  I expect it to happen that way. Kinda Frustrated

Sure, I’ve been eating with a fork again…nah, just kidding!  If I can’t get it into my mouth with my fingers, I don’t eat.  That’s a just kidding also.  Poker is kinda frustrating.  I watch beats hit other people continuously and I’ve gotten to a frame of mind that has helped me slip past most of my own ugly irritations with someone snapping me off.  I still swear, but not all the time and not as much.  It’s been a seriously frustrating few days of poker.  I’ve made the money twice – not enough to make up for anything – and I’m still running like a dead nag heading for the soap factory.  Continue reading Kinda Frustrated

Today was created to introduce tomorrow

and tonight I feel as if I’m ready for the introduction as I prepare to toast off into SandWoman Land. Today was really a great day. I had my little bud Riot for two days and we headed back to the old digs to take him to mom and dad and afterwards I went to Sylvia Hart’s Celebration of birth.

What a great time it was. She’s one special gal and a very good friend.

An early start today and the drive home left me ready to leave today behind. I will. G’nite, and thanks for all the laughter and fun we shared.

Bright lights and Government – what a mix

Today’s plan is a jaunt into Las Vegas.  The sun’s is out, the wind seems to have settled, and it’s a perfect day to do outside projects but instead I’ve opted to head into Las Vegas and get my Riot Fix and spend some time in a card room with Marie – or just doing lunch if we don’t feel like sitting at the green felt.  How’s that for a super exciting way to spend a few hours in one of the hot spots of the world?
