The art of sleep

Sleeping is a disturbed state of mind sometimes.  Yah, I usually have a disturbed state of mind but it’s occasionally worse when I try to find the release of the conscious mind and let it drift off into the unconscious state.

I had the best of intentions yesterday, to be here, and keep up my streak of posting every day.  It didn’t happen.  I went completely brain dead to the point that I couldn’t focus on anything and since my disturbed state of mind hadn’t released the conscious mind very well the last three days, it was time to simply drop into a coma and try to work the wrinkles out of my brain.

On playing at the WSOP.com, the long slow grind to rebuilding a bankroll is working, but obviously frustrating.  Two Aces against two Kings in a tournament last night…yuppers, I had the aces.  He managed to get out and so did I…I was busted shortly after.

A new View from the Box is up.  Like it on Facebook please and tell your friends to visit.  I still have had no word from anyone (dealers or poker room management) that would help me write the history of poker from the other side of the table.  There are a ton of stories out there, just getting people to open up and talk about it is hard.

In the Hellmuth-promoting-himself category.  I don’t believe that much of anything Phil Hellmuth does is bad for poker.  Seriously.  It’s pretty entertaining to watch him put on a onesie and wear a bonnet to the poker table.  His latest venture is the Carl’s Junior Thickburger.  Read about it here and check out the video. On that note, when you watch the video, do you get the feeling that he doesn’t want to eat it?  I did.  Not sure how they chose those particular clips to make him look like he’s interested — maybe the rest of the video was worse.  Keep up the good work Phil, keep promoting.

I’m out for the day, back tomorrow — fo sho.  Have a good one everyone.
