This last weekend was filled with kid chatter and arguing, the kind that goes on between an almost 9 year-old boy and his sister that’s five-and-a-half. If there’s a way to pick, stab, gouge, or hurl insults, they found it.
But it was also filled with fun. Sylvia Hart (my long time dealer buddy pal at the Mirage and Bellagio) came out to hang with me and my three grandkids. We got a late start because it was a tax day for me in Vegas and I had to make separate stops to pick up the kids – two in one stop, one in the other. We got home late, my dog was starved but so were we. She got priority.
Got these pictures at the Lovell Canyon exit off of highway 160 while waiting for dad to pick up the kids and take them on into Vegas.
Taxes, ugh! I owe, I owe, I owe! I wish I had the income that would allow me to handle what I owe but alas, I will be making an appointment with an IRS rep soon. I expect to bleed but hopefully they will stop the geyser and help me with some kind of a tourniquette-work-out program.

Poker!
As crazy as it even seems to me, I haven’t played now in F-O-R-E-V-E-R! I want to but I just can’t get there. I haven’t even opened a table online in over a month. Sometimes the hours in the day simply can’t be flooded with oxygen and feel-good spells that can keep you awake and alert long enough to even get involved.
Full Tilt Poker has $10 free for opening a new account. Living in the U.S. is the place I want to live but damn-it, I’d really like to jump in and enjoy some of these bonuses and promotions. Since I already have a Full Tilt Poker account, I’m sure that no U.S. player will be considered ‘new’ when we can finally play online poker again.
Tony G and PartyPoker have seperated, The G is no longer a sponsored pro. It’s not really surprising since Tony has his fingers in a lot of pies that are cut into a zillion pieces and he’s off to be the sponsored pro for his TonyBet.com betting site. Some, including me, are wondering if he will have poker on the site eventually.
Greg Raymer. I really get tired of all the noise the U.S. makes over someone’s sexual endeavors. Should it be talked about? Sure, why not? Should an adult making an arrangement with another consenting adult be splashed all over the media? If it’s in the bible belt, it appears it will be so. Especially if the adult that is making the arrangement is a poker player too. Damned sinners! Poker player and adulter all rolled into one! Burn in hell!
I felt a little sick when I read the report that Raymer had been arrested. I don’t feel bad for him, it was his choice. I do feel for his family. I feel for the online poker players of the United States because Raymer was an incredible spokesperson for the game. What happens to his image now in standing up for poker? I feel like we just got one more strike against legalizing online poker as a country.

Over and out world! G’nite.
Riot taking to the role of Big Brother well?
One of the things that Greg exhibits is the personality most poker players do in some form or another – Bullet proof. The powers will always be able to minimize that type of personality. All they have to do is wait. The mistake made will then be trumpeted across the news.
I still maintain that the three of them going to Capital Hill was one of the largest mistakes for poker, ever. But then what do I know? I’ve been making crying calls for a long time.
Lots of the old time poker pros kept their heads down and when they heard their names they pointed in another direction. On-line, the real trouble started when the Powers realized that 12B dollars was floating out the door each year, for the most part tax free, and then when they got their hands on the player lists and crunched the age brackets and realized the number of “retired” (read social security) players there were, and that was “public” money being used as discretionary money . . . Well, then. Suddenly the old gray haired crowd became public enemy one.
Control. Pure and simple. Greg, and the Full Tilt crowd simply were the public face of the un-controlled bunch, forever more to be marginalized.
Sorry about that. I shouldn’t rant in comments.
Ahhhhh…TM, I really enjoyed your ramble and couldn’t agree more. On Riot taking to BB role well…no! He lives with his mom and spends a lot of time with me on weekends. The other two live with their mom. The moms mutually avoid each other and aren’t kindly in trying to mend burnt bridges.
Riot also doesn’t want to share Gram’s house with others since it’s usually him & me hiking, playing video games, watching movies, etc. and that little sense of jealousy emerges when he has to share. He’s trying to feel his independence and the age differences between them makes it a little tougher when they only have minimal contact.
Yikes! I ramble in comments too.
