HELP! I’m under siege, there’s so much mucous in my lungs I feel like I’m drowning and can’t cough it up fast enough. There’s a wheezy rattle going on when I breathe completely out and a wheezing rattle when I suck air…until I cough for a minute or so and dislodge some of it. Graphically disgusting! Right? Phelgm Bots are disgusting.
It is. I hate it when something sneaks up and bites you in the ass and you don’t even know what it is or whenst it came. I’m on the upside of down with it though and hope in the next few days to be feeling like my same old bitchy self.
I do not know what happened but my blood pressure went on a runner from hell and was mostly way too high for the last few weeks, only calming down about four days ago. Not sure if it was aftershock from trying statins again or what caused it but there were a variety of factors that could have contributed to the whole mysterious ‘I don’t feel good’ thingy that was going on.
One thing that baffles me. I’m a big fan of the Grossan Pulse but… How is it that a few hours after nasal irrigation, you bend over and a 1/4 cup of saline rinse runs out of your nostril like you turned on a faucet? Where the hell does this stuff hide while your head is up and your walking around? Yeah…I’m smart enough to figure out it’s in your sinuses but how can that much of it be still there?
On the upside, back in November I posted about being in for tests and finding out I was pre-diabetic, high cholesterol and high BP have been known issues for a long time, but the diabetic side of it kind of blew me away. I had Dr.’s orders to lose weight and go low carb – around 40 a day. The good news is that I stay pretty close to 60-80 carbs a day (sometimes close to 40) and have lost over 25 pounds since then. I feel much better, I’m a bit in shock that I could drop weight so easily by just staying committed to eating fewer carbs. Another 20 pounds or so and I’ll be right where I think I should be. WOOT! I only need to lose 10 more to hit my doc’s idea of what I should weigh…he’s wrong.
If there are carbs in mucous, I could be gaining weight this last week. Gross!
On the poker side of life, it’s possible that I will be playing interstate online poker with Delaware and New Jersey by the end of the year…then again not. There could be certificate issues with my ISP showing me as coming in from CA instead of NV…I think they must use some type of certification to verify but not sure. It would really be a Murphy’s Law shotgun blast to the head to find out I live in NV but can’t play online poker in NV when it becomes legal. It’s a wait-and-see prospect right now.
I can’t help but fidget with thoughts now and then about what’s going on with Full Tilt Poker/PokerStars/Rational Group when it comes to the money that some of the FTP Pros borrowed from FTP and if it’s expected to be paid back or how it’s being handled. It’s not with a hard heart or spite towards any of the borrowers, it’s just a fair play issue that probably goes back to my dealing days…like how much should high limit players be allowed to get away with? Translate that into how much should they be allowed to get away with in borrowing funds from online poker sites and not have to be held responsible while the rest of the world is watching?
I think it’s bad for business and reputations, not only theirs but if the sites just let them slide, it’s just like a casino poker room letting a high limit player do whatever they want because they spend money in the pit and casino management doesn’t want them to leave.
Barry Greenstein has a post up on Team PokerStars Blog, and reading it nudged my simmering thoughts on the pros borrowing money. I’m pro Barry so this isn’t meant to single him out, it was just the catalyst that whipped the issue into foam.
IMHO if the issue of the pros owing money to Full Tilt Poker, and still playing poker as part of the team (or not), and the U.S. players still waiting to be paid (which doesn’t have jack shit to do with the issue, but yet it does), I think a statement should be made to the world (because part of what they were borrowing was possibly other player’s funds) by PokerStars that the pros are all going to pay back the borrowed money…or not. But clarify either way.
You and I aren’t given the advantage of picking up $400K or getting a second payment of $2,000,000 due to a mistake made in management. We scrape out our monthly pittance and play on what we can manage, we get no super advantages or bonuses other than what’s being offered to everyone else that plays in our class. I guess I sound resentful but it’s not meant that way either. Rank may have its privileges but please tell me how these ‘owing pros’ have rank. IMO it makes the pros look bad to the public.
Borrowing from each other and not paying back is between those that do it, but borrowing from an institution (even if Chris Ferguson was holding one of three percentage points) where only a few are allowed to borrow and if feels like the masses are footing the bill is a bit hard to swallow. Especially when that institution is taken over by another one and the players co-mingle and are very public figures in the field.
Do I think it will ever be brought to light as to whether or not they repaid or were even asked to repay? Hell no…it disappeared in the tail lights a long time ago. Kinda reminds me of phlegm, disgusting.
Guess I’m done jabberin’
Slight exaggeration on the wheezing rattle – it just feels that way.
