I’m sure it’s me. Of course with my absence, no one ever stops by to read either, and why would they? Nothing new, nothing exciting, no anger spewing poker dealing tales, or philosophical rambling thoughts, or answers to the questions of the universe, just plain old daily living like most of the rest of the world spends their days. UGH! Did I just spell out boredom or some such nonsense?
A helluva long ways from being bored or sitting down to a dull TV gazing day, life does keep spinning forward. I marvel now at blogs I read where people post every day. I seem to run out of whatever it takes to keep pounding out news on a daily basis most days. Of course I’m not driven or irritated to spew so that has something to do with it I’m sure.
The trip into Vegas was a positive “come back and see me in five years,” from my Dr. I really love those kind of reports. Overall, I have a pretty clean bill of health for a granny, so why did my insurance premium go up $100 a month at the first of the year? That sux the big one. Nothing new, nothing extreme has changed in my health status, but I have to pay a bigger premium. UGH! Let’s hear it for all the health care bullshit that’s supposed to help us all. NOT! It’s designed to make us pay, and pay, and pay, can’t live with it or without it. Now if they’d just start handing out a feel good drug packet every month, I might be more prone to pay higher insurance premiums and never whine.
On the topic of drugs, I really liked this, the long dreary winters, the reindeer being bored stiff and needing an escape hatch, and knowing just how to get their fix.
The Daily Dollar at Full Tilt still has me pulling up a chair almost daily. Today I was taken out by the infamous k-10. I missed something somewhere in my lessons on poker skill and big hands, because I just can’t find k-10 in my ‘let me put my chips in the pot and then go all-in with a gutshot draw with k-10,’ poker playing notes. I’m so interested in the Multi-Entry Tournaments at Full Tilt that I have three entries into the Big Little that’s coming up. It just sounds like a ton of fun to be playing multiple entries into the same tournament.
Tuesday will find me out picking up a trencher, two of my boys will be here to start the direct burial cable trench from the electric platform to the well, and hopefully Bill will come and oversee the hook-up in Steve’s absence, and we’ll do some hand digging by the well and the electric platform. Just sounds like a whole boatload of fun…NOT! But it has to be done. The ground dried out enough that Valley Electric could find their power line with their equipment. This silt soil is one helluva strange animal when it’s wet.
On the wet note, I’ve been out walking the streets with neighbor Amy periodically and we both would like to get back to the desert but it’s still just too damned wet, drying, but wet.
Tony is still kicking/swimming around in his tank and now either has me trained or I have him trained. I feed him millworms every afternoon and as soon as I head for the tank, he comes right to the front glass and waits, watching for anything that hits the water. Millworms, ugh! They live in a red wheat mix or something like that and must be refrigerated to keep from turning into beetles. Tweezers, Kids! I pick the millworms up with a special bug/worm grabbing pair of tweezers. I think I’ll start looking for a home for Tony, away from my home. Perhaps a 12 month school will take him. I’ll be checking it out after I accomplish a few more projects around the place. I really don’t want a pet, if I did, I would’ve already had one. 🙂
Laters…
Let me get this straight…
You are playing in a tourney and have multiple entries?
Must be the ZJustin Memorial Tournament!
I played one of those and entered 4 times the other day. Went horribly, as it does with me and NLHE.
Sorry, I’ve been really in a weird spot lately, and now suddenly I have a ton of free time but fell out of the habit of reading things. And writing things. Hoping to work on that some with my time on the beach.
I tried to comment. Life is weird. Sorry.
Hey Andrew,
Nice to hear you are alive and doing something, not sure what, but something. Welcome back.
