No, not pictures or trinkety things that go on the walls, just me hanging out at the new digs. It’s been a helluva struggle this last 3 weeks and yesterday was the 3 week anniversary of when we started making dump runs and working through the wreckage what was left behind in someone’s life. Really! For people to live in those conditions – and at least one of them had a job – their life was a wreck. The bad neighbors were a huge benefit for me in the long run and I’m thankful they were what they were and hope their life improves on down the road somewhere…really far away from me and mine. Now is definitely not the time for a deep dive into the darkness that mankind swims in most of the time so let’s drift on past that one.I still have a day’s work taking out the rest my goods at the coach but when it comes to spiffing that baby up for the market, it will be a cake walk. It’s in cherry condition inside and kept pretty tidy so I’m hoping that it will only be about 2 days overall. Of course the rain started on Saturday evening and it’s been nonstop since then. It’s been a nice, lazy shower that creates silt quicksand and moats around things. I’m ultra cautious about stepping off of the known path because my feet will disappear into a slippery bog if I do. And the Steed is definitely staying on roadbed. Any one out there interested in a 06 Newmar Cypress fifth wheel? Send me an email for particulars if you are.
The truck driving duo made it in late this afternoon after being on the road for the last 3 months. They’ll be here until the first part of January. We’re doing Christmas in Vegas with two of my boys, Darian and Dan, and Darian’s GF Courtney – and Riot will be there too! Woo HOO! That should be a ton of fun. It will be an in and out day for me unless I’m just dragging and then I may stay the night. Riot hasn’t seen Big Tony (the turtle) yet and I’m hoping Riot will spend a weekend with me soon. That should be a ton of fun too.
I got a notice from Anthem today that propoxyphene is being taken off the market by the FDA. Damn! I’m going to have to become a ‘brownie girl’ I guess. Yah, I have some pain issues and they aren’t all related to getting my 2-3 offsuit snapped when I play poker. Why did Anthem notify me? Because they are my high priced insurance company and they know I had a scrip filled last month.
A few nights ago found me taking 24th (I think it was) place in the Daily Dollar at Full Tilt Poker. It didn’t pay a ton but that’s the closest I’ve coming to getting into a run for a bigger pay day. There were over 8k players in that and after 5 or 6 hours of playing, I was still geared up to do better than I did. I had around 900K when I went bust, I think the blinds were 12-24k or somewhere in there. I can’t even remember what I busted on.
I’ve watched the reports rolling in on Harry Reid’s poker legislation. I want online poker legalized but not with those conditions, so it was almost a relief to me that it didn’t make it. I can’t imagine the 15 month waiting period being good for anything to do with online poker. Playing poker shouldn’t be such a struggle, online or in a live poker room. MOI is still irritated over it all, but it’s become a sit back and watch irritation right now.
It’s been another very long day for me and as my son Josh recently told me in skype video chat, I’m acting like an old person because I go to bed early. I told him that an ‘old person’ couldn’t begin to do the workload I’ve been trudging through this last three weeks. He eased up on me then. All I’ve done is twist and turn and stretch and lean and pick up and scrub and move and fix and get down on my knees and stand back up and climb up a step ladder and back down and haul garbage and lift and drag and scrape, and, and. I can’t remember ever being as sore all over as I am now except once when I started an exercise program in my mid-twenties after having sat on my butt at a desk job for two years. And I tried to miss the bottom step on the coach stairs when I had a big box of stuff in my arms – and it worked. I missed it! Slid right down to the ground and hit my back on the step after my butt took most of the fall and on down to the ground. I have a hard bruise on my glute that looks like a horse kicked me, and mini-bruises all over the front of my thighs from picking up boxes and objects and propping them on my thighs as I opened a door or went up and down stairs.
Soon I hope to sleep in until around 8 or so every morning. For awhile I was up at 4 a.m. every day – it’s finally dropped to 6 a.m. now. Soon…
