The RIOT came out to play

He was on a 4 day break from school, sick, had thrown up in class and momparental had to go pick him up – I was already in transit to Vegas when I found out the news.  Momparental had things that needed to be done in government buildings and a slew of other things so the decision was made that he would go home with me as planned.  He had a fever!  SWEET!

We did have a good time – my telling him who the boss was and him pretty much still getting his way.  He gave me what he had; I now have scratchy sinuses in the back of my nose and upper throat, sneezing, and an off and on runny nose.  He’s much better though.  We spent a lot of our time outside since the wind had decided to go torment another part of the world for awhile.

The moon graced us with a late afternoon ballet as she slipped up over the horizon and danced across the top of the salt cedars.

Most nights – when the wind is on vacation – Riot and I have a fire in the evening.  He does more leap and hop and begging to stir it than he ever enjoys it.  Grannie keeps giving him the lecture however.  Of course then he thinks he can blow it out.

In the midst of being quite ill, the wind howling, the sister coming home, Riot racing around creating havoc with the chipmunks, rabbits and quail – not to mention Grannie – I got one of my major backhoe jobs done.  One more to go.  Tomorrow promises to be an early a.m. hike with Amy and then sis and I are going to lay up a small block wall to reflect heat from her front yard chimenea.  Don’t forget I have all of that experience from the old digs when I created a major retaining wall with a slight arc in the floor plan and it turned out incredibilous.  Shit…the gig tomorrow is going to be a chore though – 90lb bags of concrete, the mixer, and block lifting, I expect to be dragging.

And speaking of dragging, it’s been a long day.  I haven’t played any poker for awhile and I’d like to get back to it.  I miss the sound of someone sucking out on me…hahahahaaaaa.
