PokerWorks H.O.R.S.E. and first out – NOT

i NOT ONLY was not first out, I had a great time just chatting away with all five of us.  Yes, that’s all that showed but I think it’s one of the best times I’ve had playing, simply because we were all in the same game and chatting it up.  Even Grupper managed to add to the chat for a brief moment.  Thank you, Grupper!

JB couldn’t make it, his internet connection was on the fritz.  He won the last two tournaments and couldn’t defend his title on this one.  Bad Beat City!

Clearspine couldn’t make it either, he was providing a guarantee that he would continue to receive gourmet meals cooked by his lovely wife!  It’s all explained in the comment here!

Two new faces appeared and that made me very happy.  Charlie Mac came to join us, he visited Vegas this summer for the WSOP, played at Binions numerous times, and also played the Senior’s WSOP Event.  And ‘djhomeschool’ that wouldn’t spring with a real world name – did give up a teensy bit of info – guess you have to listen to his podcast to find out if he’s got a real name.

My blogging buddy on the Chasing Chris Ferguson project references a Razz hand that I got so lucky to win against her, I started with the best hand and ended up with the best hand. Her hand:  [6s 5s 8c 4s Th Ac 8s]  My hand: [6d 5c 4c 4d As 3s Ah]  It’s kind of scary…almost expected lightning to strike the virutual felt.

Grupper must have lost his internet connection right after I won a hand against him…most people take a hammer to their mouse when I beat them in a hand…but I hope his was just an internet problem.

This was how it played out:

1: djhomeschool (Denton TX foo!), $12.50 (50%)
2: cmacc85 (waycross), $7.50 (30%)
3: PokerWorks (Las Vegas), $5.00 (20%)
4: grupper (Kansas),
5: PokerHack07 (Alturas),

Grupper was in sit out mode and we both went bust in the same hand, I simply had a few more chips than he did and I was all-in at one point with very few chips and honestly thought he was going to take 3rd place by not being there.  I got lucky to pick up a few pots and stay in action for a little while longer.

After I went broke – and dj took mine and Grupper’s last chips – Charlie Mac only had a little over 500 in chips to somewhere over 6K held by dj.  Amazingly the tide turned and Charlie Mac and dj were almost even for awhile and then Charlie Mac held the lead by a few thousand and they went back and forth at the chip wars.  I made a pot of coffee and settled in to watch and chat.  What a lot of fun.

dj is trying to learn to use a crock pot?  Umnhhh!!  Charlie Mac had a burger cooking which really set me to wishing I had one.

I won $5 for that tourney, which means I only lost 50c for that session.  I had a good day.  I won a few $ in the ‘get a piece of Ylon Schwarz’ and I think I won something in the battle to play the Million Dollar Men final when I came in about 500 out of being in the top 1,000 that would move on to compete in another tournament to play against the six MDM.  My bankroll hopped up to a huge $52 for the day.  YIPPPEEEE!  All that chatting fun and real money too.

Thanks for coming Charlie Mac, and DJ, and Grupper, and PokerHack, c u in about two weeks for the next battle.
