As every thing goes

so does the days of our lives…soap opera not revisited.  I had to leave early today to make the trip into Vegas to visit the tooth fairy dentist to pick up the hard retainer I’m supposed to wear at night when I want to gnash my teeth…perhaps we should market these things at poker games.

Of course once I know I have to get up in the fairly early a.m., there is no way in hell that I’m going to go to sleep.  That would be way to simple.

I didn’t.  I did make it in to Vegas to the dentist, but I’m beyond exhausted.  Driving home was one of those ordeals of tired where it’s the perfect time of day and perfect temperature to make one want to pull over and just sleep alongside the road…almost.

The tooth thing has been a nightmare out of hell as far as I’m concerned.  This poor tooth has never had the opportunity to settle down since it was dragged gradually out of its resting place and left to heal.  It’s been jabbed, pulled, scraped, temporary crown put on, permanent crown put on, another temporary crown put on, another permanent crown put on, and on and on and on.  Perhaps the retainer will do the trick.  It’s been over 9 months of hell…kind of like pregnancy except you know at the end of 9 months it’s going to stop.  Here’s hoping things will settle into a dull roar and the retainer will do the trick.

On the upside of the day, Riot started preschool…he ain’t thrilled at all but we’re all being very supportive of his going and talking it up.  I did have late afternoon food munching with Darian, Dan, Riot, and Sylvia (Riot’s mom).  That was really wonderful.  Riot has learned how to stuff tissue and napkins into one of his pockets and it was a continual process, I expected his pants to explode and hit the ceiling in the midst of napkin confetti.  He’s too damn funny.

Greg and Amy will exchange vows before long.  They hold the ability to be the perfect couple.  I’m rooting for them to be that perfect couple a hundred years from now too.  You just have to see them together to get the whole perfect couple picture.

I was ready to post an article about our latest PokerWork’s H.O.R.S.E. Tourney and simply ran out of time.  I even had a complete hand history from PokerStars and had started to break down the chat from the play of the game, had hands isolated that people busted from the tourney on, etc.  I was doing it in notepad, ran out of steam and went to bed and that’s the time that windows downloaded a very important update and rebooted my pc.  YIKES!  Everything I’d started was lost.  And then as usually happens, the time clock got me and the time is now past to do a ‘timely’ article on it.

Ken.P AKA The LuckBox took top honors this time, coming from behind when he was heads-up with JB and proving that luck and cheating really does outwit skill and knowledge. *laughing out loud*  MaxieCat was able to join us due to Ken.P’s generosity in transferring funds to her account for the buy-in.  Hell…if she waited for me, neither one of us would ever get there because I’m a donkey and can’t win.  GG Ken!

Clearspine was first out and took it quite well:

clearspine [observer] said, “Linda, I’ll transfer you another $3, if you just don’t mention that I was even here,   lol”

Ken.P took 1st, JBHarshaw took 2nd, and Grupper finished in 3rd.  Grupper doesn’t join in the chat…too bad, that’s one of the best parts, but he does join the tournaments.  GG Grupper.  It was a lot of fun.  We will have another one in a few weeks and the more the merrier.  Stay tuned for the next time and date.  Thanks for joining everyone.  C U at the next one.

I’m taking my retainer and heading for SandWoman Land!  G’nite all.
