There’s always a buffet of life stacked out in front of me as far as the eye can see. I can’t possibly handle all of it in a lifetime and it feels as if I’m in continual glut mode just trying to taste part of it as time goes speeding by. Then as life happens, the buffet has new additions all the time, adding to more of the confusion of which dish I should dive into first…oh wait…there’s another one over there. Perhaps I’m just incapable of staying focused on one thing until that plate is gone from the buffet, perhaps no one is capable of staying that focused; regardless of which way it goes, I’m a time donkey. I just can’t get it all handled. I admit it.

So let’s do a jump backwards. I survived the dental agony from last week…kind of. I was back in the dentist’s chair on Monday to have the back of the crown ground off as I was biting on it. It still feels as if there’s continual stress on my front tooth. The crown is plastic and it is one solid piece, appearing to be two teeth, as the anchor tooth helps stabilize the tooth that was extracted. At the end of July, I will go in for permanent crowns. Damn it, I hope the pressure feeling doesn’t last that long.

My sweet Kayanna was supposed to arrive around the 23rd of July and journey to the family reunion with me. Everything had been verified with Kayanna’s return to school date and the tickets were settled. Then I found out that due to a mistake made by Mom, she started school a few days earlier than her return flight out of Vegas. UGH! More time consumed in deciding what to do, phone calls back and forth, checking out different flight schedules and finally it was decided that she would spend a week or so with me in Vegas and I would head to the family reunion alone. Old ticket cancelled; new ticket purchased, she’ll be here in about two weeks. We have a ‘guitar hero III’ date. It’s been almost 3 years since we were close enough to share a hug. Yummy!

I was ready to climb in and post yesterday and got a note from the programmers that they were working on Word Press, STAY AWAY, so I did. Everything seems to be cleanly polished in the Word Press dashboard now.

Poker’s still treating me the same, bad cards, bad cards, bad cards, repeat. How do I hate you, Card Fairy? Let me count the ways. But I can’t quit, I was born to play poker in between battling bouts with the Buffet of Life.

Monkeys do mate. Seriously…I met her. She’s a ton of fun and just right for my buddy. Sarah and the Monkey…they just look so…made for each other. NO, I did not! I did not just call Sarah a monkey.

Howard and Suzie Lederer and Steve Z. are doing the WSOB again. I’ll be there, it’s next week.

Check back, I’ll try not to be so long between posts.
