Poker Around Town

I’ve heard a few tidbits of news from Wayne about the Las Vegas view of poker rooms as of late. It seems a lot of them are not putting out a massive effort to keep the games going and some are to the point of cutting back on dealers, some may close, some don’t try to restart their games once they break for the night. I asked Wayne to visit the forum and put up a post – perhaps he will.

I could get off my lazy butt and make some phone calls and visit places around town to see how the games are faring…honestly the thought is exhausting. As I’m still fading the bad tooth fairy blues and have a lot of other things on my plate right now, I wouldn’t make book on me getting out there. In the meantime, I have it on good authority that the Mirage is spreading a new game. This one would have fit perfectly into our Pan Game Plays last week. It goes like this:

It’s called Texas Hold’em Plus and in reality it is a variation of Pineapple – the only difference is you pay to replace a card preflop for the cost of the small blind by putting a chip on the card you want to replace and the dealer immediately replaces it. Then the game continues as usual – it is currently being spread at the $3-6 limit although they do have signs ready for the $1-2 No limit version. Currently the game is exclusive to the Mirage – the creator of the game works at Red Rock. He has the patent and the gaming approval and the Mirage is doing the beta test for him.

There you have it! Tired of the same old games and ho-hum? Hit the Mirage and try out the new game. Be sure to come back here and leave me a comment as I’d love to know what you think of it. Naw…I’m not on the payroll, just curious as to public reaction.
