A few notables

Someone graciously left me an anonymous link to a TwoPlusTwo post on my last post. For the first time in years, I posted on another forum other than the PokerWorks Forum. I guess I just don’t get out much anymore, since the days of the shredding, ripping, idiot rants on RGP and a few other sites, I don’t have the energy or desire to visit and read. Too many of them are bashing, name calling sessions – and I get trashed for using names? Oh well, everyone’s got their own issues. And no, kids, although you are welcome to believe what you want, I did not get reprimanded, talked to, suspended, put on leave, or fired for that post. If I had, I would have visited an attorney 🙂 and been blogging my ass off about it.

Another note that is huge right now for the media side of the WSOP, there are a lot of people that won’t receive a media pass this year – even people that have reported before. Yes, the WSOP is THE poker event, and yes, there may be more than plenty of media coverage, but I think they need to seriously assess how they handle their doling out passes. Or perhaps rework some of the time slots that people can cover in. If they want coverage – obviously they do and everyone in the world wants to be tuned in and in the know – then Harrah’s has to make a commitment to providing media a method of providing the best coverage possible. Yes, PokerWorks will be there, bringing in live reports and news from the people side of poker. Whew! I was even wondering there for a bit.

Tonight is night out with friends for a Las Vegas show and a little live poker at Ballys. Hopefully we will see Dave, poker room personnel, and have a chance to catch up a bit on life in Vegas. Wayne tells me the poker picture in Vegas is pretty glum right now. I’m trying to talk him into posting on the forum about it since he’s in the Palm’s Poker Room five days a week, he has a good view of what’s happening around town.

My next few posts will be going backward to events that I haven’t covered here yet, but want to. In the meantime, I wonder if the wind will ever quit trying to lift my little home skyward. Kee-rist! Did I ever tell you how much I hate the wind?????
