Happy Birthday

This guy made a special trip into Bellagio to meet me in October of 2004 – doesn’t time fly? We’ve been good friends ever since. He’s celebrating another year of life today and I’m wishing him many more, filled with health, wealth, and happiness.

Unless he opted to take the day off, he’ll be slinging tickets around the green felt…err…ahhh…felt at the Palms Poker room today, stop in and wish him a happy birthday!

  1. Linda,
I wish I had opted to take the day off. Instead, I decided to treat it like any other day. Wrong. Today was one of the most tedious in memory.
Early in the day I’m still in good spirits. I’m actually whistling a tune as I sit down to deal a 2-4 limit game. Little did I know that game was filled with doom and gloom. We are all used to the mumbler/grumblers scattered around. Today, like something out of a Stephen King novel they were all drawn to the SAME table. Scenes from The Stand flashed before me eyes.
The nice lady in the 1s tells me that I CANNOT whistle. It’s in the rules along with a bunch of other stuff you can’t do she says.
I do my best not to roll my eyes so far up that they won’t come down while I tell her that I missed that section of the employee handbook. I do, however, tell her that if she’d prefer, I would try not to whistle or hum any tunes for the next 25 minutes.
She said that she would prefer that because whistling is unlucky.
Don’t you miss this type of behaviour? Aren’t you ready to go back to work?
    Just kidding!
In any case, it is amazing how time flies. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me back when we were strangers. I appreciated it then and I still appreciate it now.
    Thanks for the birthday wishes.
