Tomorrow’s a live poker day

I’m finally hitting the real world of poker in Vegas, going to meet Wayne and Marie for a bit of chowing down and then poker – with real dealers – in a real poker room – hopefully with other real players besides the three of us. We are going to the Tuscany, 2 p.m., if anyone wants to meet us there – that will be Wednesday. We haven’t met at the tables for a helluva long time and just hanging out will be fun.

Word is that Tuscany has a great ‘play 10 hours, get a shot at a freeroll tournament’ promo going on; and if you play between 2 and 7 p.m., you get double hours for your table time. I have no idea if I can make it five hours, or if the game will even hold up that long. Just for the sake of argument, let’s say that it will if the three of us can stand it. I haven’t sat in a live game since the blogger shindig, not sure how well I will handle it now since my patience wears thin with live games and the chairs are normally not that comfortable. And one huge downside to the Tuscany is that they used to have a bar right in the poker room and smoking was allowed at it so…there’s no respite from the smoke when it’s 10 feet away from your nose. And most players, that run over to smoke, come back blowing smoke out at you because they don’t want to miss a hand. I’ll get back to this issue after I’ve been there, maybe it’s all changed.

I played three tournaments in the Chasing Chris project this afternoon. Brutal! I placed in one of them but it was a long hard road of frustration. Everyone knows the feeling so I don’t even have to go into it. I will admit to swearing at my keyboard more than once during the 7 stud 8 or better tourney – that’s the one I placed in. What a bunch of dipshits. I don’t know how they figure K-8-3 is a calling hand for a raise, God bless their little idiot fingers for clicking on the mouse. Honestly? That’s how i try to feel about it as I catch brick after brick. I’m folding on four when I start with 6-7-8 and catch a King, they are raising. WTF do I know?

Well, more tomorrow.
