I hate this part of life. I’ve known Sheiky a lot of years, he’s a friend of my kids (all three of them), and we’ve shared a lot of table time since I first met him at the Mirage years ago. Today I found out that he’s in trouble and it’s not pretty. He may be deported. There’s an article in the LVRJ.
I knew he’d had some problems (like this thread – I remember that night in particular because he came into the poker room and was in shell shock) and I believe everyone should have to face the consequences of their actions, but it makes me sick that he is where he is. He’s the same age as my middle son, Josh, and they have a lot of similar life patterns. They stepped into a chaotic lifestyle filled with drugs, sex, gambling, and confusion wrought by their own inability to separate themselves from it and see the overview. And they both lived in Sin City where everything is available 24/7.
If worse comes to worse, I hope it’s a life learning experience for him and he moves forward knowing that a lot of us are still here hoping and wishing for the best for him.
Everything about this just pisses me off. Obviously the crimminal justice system is omnipotent, and can do whatever it pleases. Did he not serve out his time? Did he not serve out his probation? And that counts for NOTHING?!
