It’s goodbye – but not the end

I had this brain flash almost a year ago – turn PokerWorks into the blog capital of the world. The whole plan started well. We had some great bloggers in the mix, Michael Craig, Iggy, Change100, Amy Calistri, Speaker, Maudie, Grubby, my beginning crew: Tony G., CC, Prevo, and the original – MOI! I had thought to just keep adding bloggers to ‘the Works’ and growing ever bigger, building a community where we could all get together and fill cyber with our poker lore, gore, and life events.

DOINK! Somehow life has a way of smacking you in the forehead just as you hit the top of the staircase and trip on loose carpeting – it’s a long downhill trip from there. The UIGEA hit us first. Then we had the misfortune of a programmer decision that threw us out of favor with Google, we were treated as a black hat site and NOWHERE! Michael Craig went to PokerStars, Iggy went back home, and we managed to grab the rail just before we hit bottom, put ice on our bruises and stop the bleeding, but we’ve come to a time where we are going back to the original team of bloggers. Change100 left us right at the end of the WSOP. She’s writing for PokerNews now. Amy, Maudie, and Speaker leave us now. Grubby wants to punish himself and post awhile longer at PokerWorks, I’ve opted to let him.

What this comes down to is not a happy note for me. I’m going to miss them. I know that paths in poker are always moving towards higher limits and gold bracelets, I’ll keep my thoughts and visions set for the same for PokerWorks and the blog capital of the world. Perhaps one day…

Thanks to all of you, thanks for sharing your time and life with the rest of the world here on PokerWorks.
