I used to believe that weekends were for resting up and recharging, breathing space and peace and quiet, readying us for the Monday grind; now I believe they are just a horrific whirlwind of events and things that never slow down and catapult us head first into thework week- no helmet.
It’s Monday again. All of the things I thought I would accomplish on two days off, I did not. I barely did anything I thought I would do. I did get to hang out with my buddy Riot and kick around the back yard of my old digs while we BBQ’d some food. That was right up there with crunchy p-nut butter and p-nut butter M&M’s and foot massages. That boy is too much fun. He will be three this week. That means that Bellagio’s newly remodeled poker room is three years old also. Anniversaries everywhere. My two sisters just had B-days. How in the hell did we get to be this old? We still think we are teenagers -don’t hold a mirror in front of my face when I have that thought.
We had a Pan Game Plays session at Gary and Marie’s place a week ago. I’ve been lax in getting up and at it with pictures and story line but I may manage that this week…crossing my fingers. It was so much fun to see these people that I hold dear to my heart, and play poker in a relaxed atmosphere. More on that later.
A treat from my last hike with Joan – a new hiking friend – at Calico Basin:
And it’s time for me to hit the shower and look for the time clock.
