Things I could write about…

Since I’ve been such a slacker, there are a lot of things that I could put down here. Some of them aren’t worth mentioning, some are funny, some are not so damn funny.

  • Like two of our supervisors in Bellagio’s room are no longer with us, Jimmy Riley and Nate Sugarman. The scary part of it for me is that now I have to worry about who their replacement will be, think about it!!! What are those two doing? I have no idea, I just know they aren’t punching the time clock at Bellagio.
  • I dealt $20-40 7 card stud to John Bonetti. How strange, he apoligized and called me Lady because he forgot to ante, he cursed and snarled when he didn’t win a pot…not necessarily at me, just in general. I don’t believe he even differentiates between dealers, we just all wear’the’ shirt.
  • “You are playing in a 2% room, Son.” Chip Reese as he explained that he wanted to play $3,000-6,000 and all of the games to another player that didn’t want to play that high and play all of the games. The other player wanted to play HORSE at $3-6 or all the games at $2-4. The other player said he played higher than 98% of the poker world. Interesting thought isn’t it? Take all of the poker masses around the world and only 2% are even able to take a seat in Bobby’s Room on a consistent basis?
  • I finally dealt to Jennifer Tilly. I’ve seen her in Aruba and at Bellagio on numerous occasions. She was playing in a Super Satellite for the final event. It was smooth. I thought the dealer behind me was going to have a heart attack though. When he pushed me out of the next table, he told me he’d had a little problem in calming down while dealing to her. Cute!
  • Sam Farha and Patrik Antonious were facing off on Table 6. The table was roped off with velvet ropes and I have no idea what game or limit they were playing. Sam had on a dress jacket and a smiley faced type of T-shirt. Bobby’s Room was full, both tables slamming.
  • The room has been one huge anthill of noise and poker. Every poker star in the world is playing right now. James Woods was in the room on Friday night.
  • My grandson, Riot, loves Spiderman. He has Spiderman pillows, blankets, toys, and the movies. Riot will be three at the end of this month. I wonder what it would be like to tell Riot that I’ve dealt to Spiderman and have Riot grasp the concept. *smile*
  • A celebration of life was heldfor Lance Yamamoto’s family and friends at Sandy Valley Moto Cross. Goodbye, Lance.
  • While I was waiting to push into a mixed game – Sam Grizzle was playing in it – Sam had his wallet out showing pictures. He showed me one of him when he was in highschool. D-A-Y-A-M! Fine looking guy, looked like he could have been Sam’s son. When I dealt, Sam chatterboxed throughout my entire down. Singing and talking it up – happy chips, me thinks. He threw me a $1 toke when I pushed him a pot, telling me that he was tipping because he was good looking, if he was ugly he wouldn’t tip. KEE-RIST!
  • Friday late night, I clocked out and was having a cup of coffee, sweating my son Dan in a $15-30 game. Johnny World walked by. He gave me a giant hug and told me he really liked the new streaks in my hair. Love that man!
  • Pat Poels was in a super satellite I dealt, someone commented that he wasn’t wearing his bracelets. Umnhhhh! The umnhhhh is on the comment – not on the fact that he wasn’t wearing his bracelets.
  • If you’re playing a tournament at Bellagio, DO NOT even look at your cell phone if you are in a hand. Your hand is dead if you do.
  • $20-40 Stud is now a time drop game instead of rake.

All in all, there a million hands going on and it’s amazing to watch some of the beats. Like one guy thinks he has A-8 which would have given him second pair as he calls a bet. At the end of the hand, he wins the pot with a A-7 because the 7 makes a straight. And it goes on and on and on. All the while you are playing and thinking you are the only one in auto fold mode and the only one that gets big hands beat, it’s happening every where – and it’s downright damn scary.

  1. Too bad about Nate and Jimmy. I liked Nate. Wonder what happen there. I figured Jimmy would move on sooner or later, but figured Nate for a lifer.

Sam G, oh the stories about Sam. He was always surly as hell to me until he met my girlfriend (a beautiful asian massage therapist) then all of sudden he is Mr nice guy. Still didn’t tip me as a dealer or a floor person though. She got all the tips.

Whatever game Farha was playing heads up, I can guarentee the dealers were not making any money.

Jennifer is a blast to deal and work with. I have had her and the una bomber at many tables and tournaments. She is alway’s fun, he is always trying to be funny but is just a pain in the ass. Next time you see her check to see if she is wearing her JFT (Jennifer Fucking Tilly) belt buckle. It is pretty cool.
