Harrahs and their allegiance to the WSOP

I just received an email from a long time friend of mine that sells/deals with collectibles. I used to carry his info on my website before it became part of the giant picture that it sets in now.

His email:

*****

I CONTACTED HARRAHS EXECUTIVE OFFICES ABOUT THESE CHIPS BEING OUT THERE FOR SALE — THEY DID NOT SEEM TO CARE THAT THE SECURITY OF THE WSOP HAD BEEN COMPROMISEDSPREAD THE WORD

*****

This is what he’s talking about:

$25000 WSOP Tournament chip – it’s already sold!

$10000 WSOP Tournament Chip – reserve not yet met!

This is one of the major injustices that happened at the 2006 WSOP and now we can add missing chips that are being auctioned off at Ebay. Get real Harrahs! Get with it! Figure out what makes good poker and what makes poker go bad! How do you beat this kind of evil overlord?

  1. IMHO, Harrah’s has never given a rat’s patoot about the player, their only concern is the bottom line. In any area where there is competition Harrah’s casinos consistently have the lowest payouts and highest rakes of any of the others in every game, whether slots, Keno, whatever. I avoid playing at any Harrah’s if possible. WSOP will be the poorer for their association with them.

  2. Corporate greed killed Comdex in Las Vegas which was much bigger then the WSOP. (Over 200,000 players and it was gone in one year, after a 20 year run)

I have predicted that the WSOP is headed down the same path.
