Opening the ‘Later File’

I’ve had a variety of pictures that I wanted to put up – some involving the WPBT held on the 8th of July, Caesar’s Palace, in Vegas – and others of the WSOP – and possibly a few just because I want to put them up. Also, I never even actually finished telling the tale of the final night with bloggers. So let me start with just the high spots. On the 10th, I picked up Maudie – we were going to do lunch – we ended up finding Gracie, Pablo, (and I can’t remember his name so color me bad here), at Wynn. We had the thought of playing poker there but the room was crowded and beyond noisy. We all jumped into the Steed and headed for Bellagio. It was so hot and ugly humid that day, that just getting from the casino to a vehicle was brutal and then waiting for the air to start cooling down the vehicle was beyond belief. We parked on the top floor of the parking garage at Bellagio and headed for the poker room, where we all signed up but the lists were 18 feet long and we knew we would never get a seat, let alone get in a game together. We decided to walk to Caesar’s Palace and somewhere in there,’where isIggy?’ bounced through our conversation, he was playing at MGM (I think). I called him…amazingly he knew it was me. Another person came with us…damn it…I don’t remember his name either. Too much wine I suppose.

When we hit Caesar’s there were six of us, we were put on a list and sat down at an empty table to wait for our seats and to order cocktails. A couple of people came up and joined us, asking if this was a new game. Hell…it should have been. But they did start a game for us and we jumped right into the action. Pauly and Kristin were on their way and soon joined us. I don’t know how but Maudie made A-A good against a field of – all of us I believe, maybe one person threw their hand away – max raised. And I’ll admit I was trying to beat her. She won a huge pot. NH Maudie. Iggy, me, Maudie – and this is one of three pictures…sorry Blog Father, it appears as if you were wearing a mask – so there really are thiefs at the poker table:

I had a kewl picture of Pauly and Kristin together but as usual, he had problems with his middle finger. You don’t suppose he really was flipping me off, do you? So I managed one of him where he looks like a regular joe instead of mad poker blogger:

Somewhere, much later, everyone was ready to bail, we had justreceived munchies from food serviceandafter a few decision was made that we should go eat. A few more rounds of poker, a gob of artichoke/spinach dip later, we cashed and headed for food. Iggy left us there. Bye guy…you are so *sigh* much fun to hang with. Pauly treated Pablo, Gracie, Maudie, Kristin, and me to food at one of Caesar’s restaurants. We were the last people to come in and left late. I could just see the waiter thinking ‘get the fuck out of here, you assholes…’ but he did a great job. It was time to go. Love these poker bloggers.

And here’s another one that’s always got a smile-shedidn’t pose for this picture…honest- has a great attitude and speaks volumes for the world of poker and life. MeetAmy:

And on that note, time to close the ‘later file’ and get ready for Bellagio’s time clock. There will be another day to shake the dust off and check out pictures and taste great memories.
