The best laid plans…

I’ve had an ongoing war with Wheeler RV (the place I bought the coach) and Newmar Customer Service (the manufacturer of the coach) due to a motor problem that raises the front jacks. It’s a long story and I’m not in the mood to post it right now. But today…as I unhooked everything and set up to crank up the motors that raise the jacks – so I can back the truck under the tongue and hitch up, the motor on the jack wouldn’t work…again. I had everything locked and loaded, ready to rock and roll but…

I called my son, Darian. He came over and manually jacked up the front of the coach and released the stress on the jack…the motor on the jack was doing a mindless clack-clack-clack. I, of course, had a screaming, raging, crying fit with Wheeler RV while I waited for Darian to arrive. Since all of this occurred around 6ish, all the service people were gone and I went off on a receptionist. Not really went off but she definitely had to listen to my total frustration. Ain’t life grand.

I’ll be going in to Wheeler – first thing in the morning, towing my home behind me – with reinforcements that will help me get the situation squared away. Depending on the time line, I may still make the trip to CA. If not, it will be another day. If things aren’t resolved with Wheeler, I have plans – and my plans won’t make Newmar or Wheeler very happy.

More as it develops…
