During my week of play vs. deal, I knew Craig Cunningham was coming into town and we were going to meet, if I could keep my butt in Bellagio’s Poker Room long enough for it to happen. The worst of it is that I was there on Thursday night, playing in a game when he came in…and we missed. Continue reading Catching up!

My camera bit the dust!
Kee-rist! I’m sick over it. I’ve tried to be so damn careful with this camera…first of all because it cost me an arm and two legs about three years ago – and second because I take it almost everywhere with me because I love to record my life experiences and look at them over the years…as they actually were, not as I ‘think’ I remember them. I checked into the Sony website to see how much it would cost to repair this little unit…now I’m waiting to hear back from them…and in the meantime, I’m going camera shopping. I absolutely can’t live without one. Continue reading My camera bit the dust!
The Pan Game plays Caesars
Part of the Saturday night Pan Game (the Saturday night crew that used to gather at my house until I moved into an RV park), made it to Caesars to meet me for the weekly ‘tour and play of Vegas Card Rooms’ – on Saturday, the 11th. Gary and Marie, Wayne, Mark, and me gathered at a $3-6H game; each of us drifted in at various intervals. Continue reading The Pan Game plays Caesars
She’s got a camera!!!
HELLO-O-O-O!!! The whole world has cell phones with cameras – so what is all the hype about someone carrying a camera into a poker room or casino? And if someone else asks me, “What’s the camera for?” I may just fall on the floor laughing. Of course it’s to take pictures with dumb butt…what did you think it was for, a boat anchor? And, “What are you taking pictures of?” which isn’t quite as bad…but the standard answer from me is, “Anything that suits my fancy.” Continue reading She’s got a camera!!!
Get in your place dealer!
There’s a little bit of something stuck in my throat. Kee-rist yes I’m trying to wash it down with wine but it just won’t go. I’m constantly reminded of the fact that there’s a line drawn between dealers and players, even if the dealers are playing dealers. I hate it! Why is there always an ongoing rift in the poker community about what dealers should and shouldn’t do when they are playing? There are a lot of non-playing houses in the world. In other words, dealers cannot play in the house they work in. There are also a lot of reasons to allow dealers to play where they work. The number one reason is that they keep games going so the ‘tourista’ (the guy that came to town to play poker) has a game to sit down in when they enter the room. Dealers also create action – generally speaking – they make people want to get into their games because most of them play like SHIT! Of course there’s more to this story. It’s a borderline rant. Playing the Game
On Monday, the 6th, Dave Roletto arrived to say hello – and brought me a bottle of wine. Damn these kids are nice. They arrive with smiles and wine too. Since I started my shift on a break, we had the opportunity to sit and visit before I hit the box and he went on his way. He’s young, energetic, family minded, and loves to play poker. His priorities are straight though, he’s got a three year old daughter that takes precedence over everything. I love men that love their kids…when I was growing up (Hell…I’m still trying), it was the woman’s place to handle everything related to raising kids. Visiting with Dave is a nice way to start the work day – the wine was right up there too! Thanks Dave! Continue reading Playing the Game
A Moment Like This…
A song by Kelly Clarkson – “A Moment Like this…” the song pertains to a kiss, to love, to having that special moment…but ‘A Moment Like This’ fits – with everything. If you don’t know it, you ain’t living. Continue reading A Moment Like This…
The long and winding road to nowhere
By tomorrow, either early AM or PM before I hit the shower for work, this post will be up. Right now my brain is fried, my four day weekend is a story out of the twilight zone – or that’s my thought anyway – and my humble apologies to myself for not posting. If I had, I might have cleared the ‘frying’ process and life could be smoothing out. Right now it’s still got a lot of wrinkles in it. Check back.
So…I’m back. It’s a good thing I’m single because my ‘soul mate’ would be asking for a divorce if I was hitched up – and that was the whole problem over the last four days, I was hitched up but it was my truck to the coach and there was no way out. Some of this post is the same as the last post, only a little more in depth. Continue reading The long and winding road to nowhere
The best laid plans…
I’ve had an ongoing war with Wheeler RV (the place I bought the coach) and Newmar Customer Service (the manufacturer of the coach) due to a motor problem that raises the front jacks. It’s a long story and I’m not in the mood to post it right now. But today…as I unhooked everything and set up to crank up the motors that raise the jacks – so I can back the truck under the tongue and hitch up, the motor on the jack wouldn’t work…again. I had everything locked and loaded, ready to rock and roll but… Continue reading The best laid plans…
