My brain is asleep but my body just doesn’t know it yet. I may fall off the chair and just lay where I fall as soon as my body succumbs to the lack of brain waves. Before this happens, a finish up of the beginning of ‘full timing’.

The 12th, Thursday, and I had my phone glued to my ear for a good part of the day. I made an appointment with the ‘glass dr.’ to have the ugly little blight on the passenger’s side of my truck fixed…some glaring damage about the size of a half dollar caused by a rock I believe, although it sounded like someone fired a shot when it hit. I was going to the ‘glass dr.’ at 7:30 a.m. in Henderson. Then I managed to leave a message for SOS Mobile about the jacks on the coach. At 4:30ish, after not receiving a call back, I called again. This time I got the person that would be making the ‘coach call’ – appointment set for around 10:30 on Friday. Not to leave Sprint out of picture, it took me almost 40 minutes of waiting for a human to answer the line and to finish the business of moving a landline to another residence – and to cancel DSL. Wayne called late in the day to see how I was making out – nice! Other friends touched bases with me. Numerous phone calls back and forth with my son – while all calls were welcome and I enjoy the touch, I was beginning to feel that I would have to have the phone surgically removed from my head. I headed for Sand Woman Land around 9ish as Friday looked to be a long day.

Hell…I was right. Friday the 13th. How appropriate. I was in Henderson – 7:40ish AM – called the glass guy’s office and the tech that was supposed to be in 7:30 had called in sick. They would send someone to my place though…OK…10:30…OK.

I headed for Camping World so I could spend another couple of hundred…after all the cash bleeding had been stemmed for a few days. I did my duty, boosted the economy of Henderson and assured the need for salespeople at Camping World. I returned to the RV Park. I had a plan. The glass guy and the tech from SOS mobile would arrive at the same time, I’d have that out of the way and have the rest of the afternoon to work on cleaning up things at the old house…and Amy was coming for dinner around 8ish, I still had food shopping to do.

Well so much for plans. The glass guy made it a little after 1 PM. The SOS mobile tech made it at 1:30ish to 2 PM. Umnhhhh… The jacks are still out of commission – waiting for warranty approval from Newmar – the windshield may or may not be fixed…the damage was a little larger than expected. I did make it to the store for food, managed a shortie nap and had a great time with dinner and Amy’s visit. *Randall that bottle of wine you brought me was great with the meal. Thanks so much*

Saturday and Sunday were more or less a day of trying to clean up both houses, pack/unpack, and find places for items to nest. And attempt to return to my sleep schedule so I could go back to the Poker World in true form.

Monday – the 16th – off to work. The room was horribly quiet. As Pete put it, “We haven’t been this slow since before the remodel last year.”

He’s quite right. It’s quiet. The bottom line is that if we are quiet, the rest of the town is asleep. There may be a few good games here and there but in general, there’s not much going on around the city of Vegas, if it ain’t happening at Bellagio.

I made the whole shift, getting rerouted three times as games broke down while I was dealing or just as I got to them. That’s something that hasn’t happened in a long time…three reroutes in one night.

The only game that was ridiculously ridiculous was a $2-5 NLH game in which all but the 1s were trying to set their own rules and most of them were grandstanding each hand at showdown. Several of them were trying to make deals like, “I’ll give you $10 to show me your cards,” that was after the speaker had put in $75 and gotten raised $200 more. I was on their ‘schit’ list for stopping their fun. I don’t know what the dealers in front of me were doing as far as game control went. Better leave that one alone.

The game in Bobby’s Room is up and running every night. All game limits and games are running, it’s just quiet.

And in this thread you’ll note that you are only supposed to read THIS blog for ‘entertainment purposes only’. I’m not sure why else you would read it…the secrets to the universe are definitely not hidden here in these simple words. WAIT! Maybe they are. Read at your own risk!

Now that my body has fallen out of the chair and refuses to move and still hasn’t realized my brain is asleep…g’nite.
