Another Notaris tale – $200-$400 half 7 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud 8 or Better. Apparently Notaris was having a problem remembering which game was which. Even with the 4″X 8″ game plagues, he still didn’t remember.

We finished 8 or Better and very loudly I said, “7 Card Stud….7 Card Stud now.”

Of course Notaris played the hand; he made a low. When I told him we were playing Stud, he looked directly at me and said something in Russian.

I looked directly back at him and responded, “I said 7 Card Stud, announcing it twice.” I gestured back with arms open as he had done to me.

At the same time,three players looked at me and asked, “Wow! Do you speak Russian?”

My response to him was timed perfectly so I suppose it did sound as if I was carrying on a conversation with him. I said, “No.”

One of them asked, “Well how do you know what he was saying?”

I said, “I don’t. But I do understand ‘the look’.

They all started laughing…except Notaris. The game plagues were then put almost in front of him and I heard later that he made the same mistake even though the game plagues were right beside him.
