yeah, there’s plenty of air. I just can’t seem to find a spot to move that leaves me time to complete the jumble going on in my brain. I have the boy, his Riotness, in my company since Saturday afternoon. I had posted that momparental changed the game plan of my picking him up on Friday, etc., etc., etc. Not to worry, the game plan got changed again. I thought I was going to pick him up on Sunday, that would leave Saturday open to go to the celebration of life for Gordon Long – and allow me time to visit Aria later that evening. Slap your face for making plans Linda! I got the text at 1 p.m. could I pick up Riot like NOW and take him? OK. I did. No Aria, that’s another time. Continue reading No breathing room

Bright lights, Big city
I’m in Vegas – tomorrow is the celebration of life of my friend Gordon Long. Originally I was going to pick up the Rioteer from school today – and head for home. Lunch with Marie and Carole last week found me exclaiming that I would have Riot with me and driving back and forth, especially after dark on Saturday…Marie gave me the open door treatment again. I took it. Continue reading Bright lights, Big city
A bloggery weekend in Vegas
Two days ago I started resizing and ‘de-red eyeing’ the pictures taken at the WPBT event held at Caesars Palace on the 12th, it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R. Yesterday I started uploading to the PokerWorks server, that was a real time eating bitch too slice of pie that I did intermittently between reading and sending emails, editing articles for PokerWorks and a few other sites that my team supplies articles to for PokerNews LTD. BTW, have I ever publicly stated what a great writing team I work with? They are the best!!!! Continue reading A bloggery weekend in Vegas
December 13th is a Special Day
Yes, there’s Bloggery things to write about – and lots of pictures to post – but more importantly, my beautiful Kayanna turned 13 on the 13th. She was born on Friday 13th in December, my mother was born on Friday 13th in December… Continue reading December 13th is a Special Day
Customer Service, Prepare to get ripped off
Of course I love to complain about issues with companies that go the extra mile to make sure they trap your dollar bills – including any pocket lint that might be on the bills because it might be ran through a filter and turn into money – and they make sure they get your money, so here goes. Continue reading Customer Service, Prepare to get ripped off
Snow – and more
I got home late Sunday night, welcomed by the wind howling across the desert as I descended ‘the hump’ and thought, ‘at least nothing’s changed.’ Even with the wind, when I reached home, the temperature was 45 degrees, not bad at midnight. I dragged all my stuff into the coach and cranked up the heat, got online, did a few things, and crashed by 1:30 a.m. Continue reading Snow – and more
Leaving Springfield
It’s been a great trip, and all’s gone well. Even though we had organic food, no fried or crispy critter type of meals, I feel like I gained 10 pounds. Not a good thing when you’re trying to drop the baby fat. Gary and Marie (and/or) will meet me at the airport and it will be late before I get in. It will be even later by the time I hit home and get the Steed unloaded and the heat cranked up in the coach. I expect to be back here soon with pictures and a few tales of the trip, but for now, I only have about 8 hours left with my family before we head for Eugene. Laters.
RIP Paula Halford
I no sooner received the news yesterday on Gordon Long, had my snifflie cry, talked with Jennie (Josh’s best half) about my relationship with Gordon and Carole, when I picked up my phone to find a text message from Carmen Bates that Paula Halford had passed. Super SHOCK! Continue reading RIP Paula Halford
Gordon Long
I lost one of the treasures of my life this morning. Gordon Long left the confines of flesh to travel on in his journey, his quest may have been satisfied with his trip through this piece of space and time, but if not, I do pray he finds his ultimate goal. A true friend, a good pal, always available for a phone call, a card party, a poker game or a just ‘hanging out’ moment in time, I was truly blessed to find him shining in my path as I started my journey some 30 years ago into the world of poker and my own quest of discovery in this life. Thank you Gordon for being part of my time and space.
Kickin’ it in Springfield
My trip into Vegas and visit with Gary and Marie was great – ride to the airport – on the plane by 1pmish and in the air a short while later. Before I knew it, we were landing in Springfield. So began that start of my 10 day visit. Our Thanksgiving feed consisted of some fantastic pita bread – heated – from the local organic food store, sliced avocado and tomato, with my favorite hummus. Yummmeeee! Continue reading Kickin’ it in Springfield
