I found out on Thursday when I had a follow-up for a report on blood tests and a few other reasons to visit my GP that I’m a walking candidate for heart problems. Yes, me and myself did know that but it got drilled in a little more with the latest report on my cholesterol.

Yippee!
On Tuesday it’s two weeks since I had the left eye cataract surgery done. It was different from the first surgery. I have no idea why. Right after the surgery I had a horrible ache in the middle of the eye that felt like it bored into the back of my brain (I know, you’re thinking not much damage to be done there, right?) and it was kind of a sickening feeling.
The next date with the eye surgeon
This is finally kind of fun. It took a few days for my new ‘lens’ to start to clear up and look at the world the way I would like, but it’s getting there. The funny part of it is that today I took Scout to the desert for a hike, I had on my glasses, and the big wrap-around shades (bug eyes) and headed out. I can’t see clearly now
But I can see better than I did. Right now I’m at the 4-times a day, three different eye drops stage. The surgery was pretty fast, getting ready for it was like getting ready for a major surgery though. Continue reading I can’t see clearly now
Tomorrow’s Better Vision Day
That’s how I’m looking at it. Pun intended. I will crawl out at the ungodly hour of 4 a.m. so I can hit the road for Vegas by 5:15 a.m. Hoping that I don’t have to wait for hours for the surgery, the paperwork says one can expect to wait up to 4 hours. For REALS? Continue reading Tomorrow’s Better Vision Day
This little piggy went to…
back to the blog. I seem to be stuck in a never-ending cycle of doctoring. I’m off to Las Vegas tomorrow to see my gynecologist as a follow-up after the early November surgery. He’s not the surgeon, just going back for a checkup and then I won’t have to see him for a year. Although he’s young, energetic, nice demeanor, and seems very wise, I prefer not having to travel to Vegas for Dr. visits. Continue reading This little piggy went to…
Days of Poker Past
I got a ping on Facebook today from a dealer friend that still works at Bellagio telling me that Andy Beal was back – he played Todd Brunson heads-up, each buying in for $5,000,000. There’s a report up on PokerNews.com about the match.
This is how it played out
My last post was ‘The Writing on the Wall’ and the title was wrapped around the fact that I had a premonition of bad news. I believe in those feelings, I’ve experienced more than my share during my life and those feelings have rarely turned out to be just a whimsy or me having a bad day. Continue reading This is how it played out
The Writing on the Wall
That saying always conjures up feelings of impending doom. Lately there’s a wrinkle somewhere in the back of my thoughts that predicts the writing on the wall. I don’t know what the wrinkle is, things simply don’t feel right. Continue reading The Writing on the Wall
Happy New Year!
Out with the old, in with the new, as the saying goes. But before we leave 2014 behind, let’s take the best of it, multiply it a few thousand times, and set a direct course for it in 2015. Happy New Year world!
