Walking in Springfield

Oregon that is.  I left Vegas on Monday afternoon where the temperature was a moderate 114, and boarded Allegiant Air for Eugene Oregon.  Amazingly, it never ceases to amaze me anyway, I got to my boarding area early and took a seat, made a few phone calls, and looked up to see Mori Eskandani about 20 feet away. We visited for a few before boarding. I don’t know what the chances are of crossing paths with someone that you know, on a random day, in Las Vegas are, especially since you aren’t frequenting an area on a daily basis, but an occasional one in a zillion hit/miss type of things.

I rarely made the Rio once the Main Event began – the 1st or 2nd day I believe is the only time I went in.  After reading Jennifer’s report about the restricted access as the broken tables were removed, I’m really glad I didn’t.  I saw Pauly on one of my ‘in’ ventures and he said he had a copy of “Lost Vegas” for me.  When I managed to get back to him, he had sold out everyone he had with him for the day.  Damn!  Hopefully I’ll get one another day.

I managed to put Gary and Marie’s place back into something that resembled the way it looked when I got there, loaded up my stuff, stopped to pick up Riot, and headed out to Pahrump last week on the 15th, all without pulling my hair out or turning into a grease spot and melting into the blacktop.  After that it was thinking out the process of leaving for OR and getting things lined out to go.  For some reason, every time I have to plan changes to my normal life routine, I go into some kind of stress load that leaves me with a mental twitch.  This time was no different.  But Springfield is so laid back that things have managed to ease up.  I still will be working a few hours each day but also enjoying the time I have away from the desert heat and my own self set prison walls.

Tonight my son Josh and I are driving to northern Idaho for the campground and the family reunion.  We figure to make it around 8 a.m. or so and we have a butt load of stories to tell each other.  We’re both looking forward to spending mom and son time and since we’ll be sharing the same tent, I hope he has ear plugs…I’ve been told I snore.  Tee Hee!
