It’s gloomy, intermittent rain, and face ripping wind gusts that come and go. I hate it! I solved part of the problem by going to bed around 6AM – and in between several phone calls – sleeping until 2PM. Whoever said, “The early bird gets the worm,” can have the damn worms, I don’t want one anyway. I’ve almost reverted back to my dealer hours. If I have to fade gloomy, dark weather in the afternoon, I’d just as soon sleep through it. Problem is the wind. When it’s a real howler, it hits the coach so hard at times that I feel I’m on my way to Laughlin or somewhere and I don’t even have the pleasure of hitching up and driving there.
I just had two really ugly beats in two different poker tournaments online. I figure it’s time to go through the dead run where I get the shit beat out of me by the three card or the one card out thing for awhile. It seems to run in cycles for me – maybe it never happens to anyone else but if it doesn’t, you really have no idea what you’re missing. It’s so much fun to calmly disconnect from the game – when you want to get up and kick a hole in the wall and then throw your computer through the hole instead. Does that sound juvenile? Color me juvenile then. I’m disconnected right now because I just closed the PokerStars client. And I’m not stupid or superstitious enough to believe it only happens on PokerStars, it happens everywhere, live games and internet games, no matter what house I play in or who’s dealing the cards. It’s just a cycle. The beats aren’t anything new, they’re quite normal and they happen all the time, it’s just that right now, they are fucking pissing me off.
Yah…I know I’m giving up hands while I’m sitting out, who gives a ratzzzzz? Sitting out is better than being irritated by the whole thing.
Ok, the hand that really flipped my switch was in Limit Omaha 8, I was in a tournament with blinds at $10-20, had barely put a chip in the pot other than the blinds and find myself UTG with 9S-AH-4S-AS. Seven way action and the flop is JC-AD-AC . Hell-o quads! The turn was the QC. Who gives a ratzzzz ass what the river was. I knew by the time all the raises went in that my opponent had the K-10C. But I waited until he showed it before I just disconnected from the whole client and decided I take a few minutes to do something else other than think about poker. I’d like to say I logged back in and won the tournament, I did log back in but I didn’t win. Point is, I wasn’t exasperated or irritated when I went back to finish it out. But – I HATE one card outs! Yah, they do happen for me too, it’s just so seldom that I can barely remember the one that happened a few days ago. *LMAO*
Not sure I’m able to decide who to feel most sorry for:
Poor Linda?
Poor Maxie?
I am going with Poor Ken!!!
