The sky is clear but it’s raining. I met Lance Yamamoto through my son, Darian. Lance was the real estate agent that handled my home last year. Even though I took my home off the market, I continued to receive a weekly update from Lance about market conditions, real estate value, and other important factors concerning buying and selling in the Vegas area.
Darian and Lance loved dirt bike and track riding. They both have sons that are within a few months of each other and started their sons on little mini bikes with giant training wheels and governed the bikes down to a speed of around 5 MPH. We’ve spent time out at the dry lake bed on the way to Searchlight as they’ve all cruised around while I hung out in the shade of an awning provided by the Yamamoto family and took pictures and visited.

On the 1st of April, Lance was in a serious accident while riding dirt bikes out at Sandy Valley. The following email is from his wife, Kim, sent out to all of Lance’s clients.

Hello my name is Kim Yamamoto, Lance Yamamoto’s wife.
It is with deepest sorrow that I have to write you this letter to inform you of Lance’s passing on April 3, 2007. As you may know Lance had a passion for riding dirt bikes. On Sunday he was riding with friends at the race track in Sandy Valley and was in a serious accident. He was air lifted to UMC hospital where he had extensive surgery, following the surgery Lance suffered a stoke and was put on life support for two days before passing away.
Lance and I were very fortunate to have our son Cayden 3 years ago and Lance’s world revolved around him. Lance was a great father, they spent many hours together and his passions will live on through his son. As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for me and my family.
Lance had a passion for life and was close to many of you. Lance was very meticulous about his business and cared for you. It would be important to him that you were well taken care of in your future real estate needs. If you have any Real Estate questions or concerns please call Lance’s close friend and realtor Sean Evenden at 702-524-3180([email protected]) . Sean and Lance worked together for many years and he would know that Sean would handle your real estate needs as his own.
Lance did not want to have a funeral or memorial service. Next month we will have a celebration of his life at the Hilton. If you are interested in attending please e-mail me at [email protected]. Cayden and I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Sincerely, Kim Yamamoto

Life is filled with everything, sometimes just a little too much rain.
So very sorry to hear this.
I wish the best to you and yours.
Daddy, I thank you. I am out of philosphy and wit and the only thing I feel right now is sorrow. I can’t believe he’s gone.
