Christmas always marks the end of a year and the beginning of something new to me. I leave a lot of stones unturned throughout the year and when Christmas hits and I’ve not even bothered to break a fingernail trying to turn them over, the hell with it.
They belong to last year’s dust heap and hopefully fall off the universe in a trail of ‘never-to-be-seen-or-thought-of-again’ fragments. Point being, if they were important, I’d have broken all fingernails getting them aired out – and rolled around in them for a while to figure out the next step. It ain’t happening, I’m moving on.
Riot is here with me for his Christmas vacation and it’s an experience. I forgot how obnoxious nine-year olds can be. I hate refresher courses on some issues.
My girl Scout gimped up her shoulder and is hobbling a bit today. Guess that’s what happens when you chase cars up and down the fence…you have to start fast to try and catch a car or truck doing 50 when it goes by on the street. That’s the only guess I have on how it happened, she’s an insanely smart dog except in that area.
None of this post makes any sense, and I’m Ok with that.
The Scout and the Riotness sharing a little Christmas Eve hug and cheer.
Here’s wishing you a lot of Christmas hugs and cheer as you head into a new year. P-s-s-s-s-t! Don’t break any fingernails over things left undone in 2013.
Your dog is fat. And Riot is a handsome kid. And it’s Christmas.
Have a good one, Kiddo. Many more.
TM, You are so right, Scout is a fatty. We’ve been trudging the netherworld of creosote bushes and mesquites this last 2 weeks, almost time for her leanness to start showing through a bit. She hurt her left front shoulder yesterday chasing a car down the fenceline. Later in the day she hobbled up to me and put her whole leg out to show she was injured. I love that fat dog. Riot is growing up, thank you for the ‘handsome’ compliment, he’ll love it.
Wishing you the best.
