Sugar ants in your kitchen! From whence did they come and why? I killed as many as I could as they roamed around in a muddle – they didn’t have any specific place identified as a food supply yet. It’s amazing how fast they die when you hit them with spray Lysol. Two days in a row they showed up at different times. I greeted them as best I could and sprayed out the welcome mat.
I sprayed the whole foundation/ground/window and door trim outside with insecticide too. Then it was time for a touch up of Boric Acid sprinkled under the refrigerator, stove, and kitchen cabinets. There’s no such thing as overkill when it comes to bugs IMHO – I stop at burning down buildings and shooting holes in the wall.
Today was an ant free day other than the few bodies I missed in clean-up. My counters resemble granite, bad combo to spot teensy ants on. I couldn’t help but get visions of the Far Side as ants were giving each other their last rites right in front of me.
I had a big, clear glass canister with animal crackers in it, with a heavy lid. The ants had discovered how to get into it. I filled it with hot, soapy water. Man, those crackers look really strange when they bloat up with fluid. I could hear the ants somewhere in the middle of the cookies.
“It was completely dry when we came in, not a sign of a cloud or moisture in the sky!
“Oh my God! They’re screaming down below us, it must be a cave-in of some type!”
“It’s a flood you idiot! We’re going to die today. And for what, so we could crawl back 3,000 miles with a piece of white starch. Fuck the colony man! I want out!”
Yes, I’m easily entertained.
The weather has been great, except for today, it was horrifically windy. But all in all, it’s fantastico here right now.
I’ve been a busy little bee. Walking most mornings with my neighbor Amy and my Scouty and then it’s time to step into my daytime attitude and accomplish things. But I never even come close to catching up it seems.
Can’t help but wonder why when someone’s a poker player that it always seems much worse if they are caught doing something illegal. Maybe I’m just too sensitive to a subject to close to home – yeah…poker, dummy! Let’s take Al Krux for example. He’s in the headlines tonight but it’s not because he made the final table of the main event of the World Series of Poker three times (true story), it’s because he went to jail for having 40 pounds of Pakalolo. His son was arrested too.
The world is full of crime. I just hate it when the media has to point out that they are poker players, like poker is a dreaded disease and there’s no cure for it and if you get it, you are going to be guilty, guilty, guilty, and do dastardly crimes against your fellow man.
Party Poker’s newly launched online championship tournament is underway – PokerFest – I do wish I could play at Party.
The November Nine will be facing off soon. I am curious how each of them are mentally handling the anticipation and excitement and what they do to handle themselves as the days go by. Gary Wise has a good article on the November Nine; but that was written then, this is now! They could be going off the mental deep end right now. But if they hold on to their poker face, we will never know…will we?
