It’s a very beautiful night in the desert.  Last year around this time, it was at least 115 degrees during the day and cooling off to about 114 at night.  The land of shake and bake (the wind does the shaking, the sun does the rest) has been through some strange times this year.  It’s weird, it’s unusual, but it’s actually cool at times.  No complaints!

The WSOP Main Event is cranking – not today obviously since they had recess – but it’s ready to move again tomorrow.  I do wonder what it would be like to play in it.  I had the plan to qualify online…really…and even had tickets to play the SCOOP tournaments on PokerStars but the government protected me and I lost that opportunity!  Thank you big brother!  Protecting me from possible fortune and fame is huge on my list, I’m almost on my knees I’m so thankful.

Wednesday, July 6, 2011 marked the first ever White House-Twitter town hall  in which the President answered questions in real time from Twitter users across the country. The Issues discussed ranged from the state of the economy and reducing unemployment levels to the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the President ignored the thousands of Tweets from PPA members asking him if he supports the licensing and regulation of online poker.  We believe Mr. Obama could have clarified his stance on our issue in 140 characters or less and, by not doing so, he  missed a great opportunity to solidify his poker constituents.

I went to Twitter Town Hall and tweeted the twit President Obama, asking him to regulate and license online poker.  I stayed, and stayed, and stayed, thinking that he would at least have the courtesy to stop skirting the issue of online poker players in the US and our concerns and finally GET REAL about all of it.  No worries, he’s still a coward and won’t talk to us about it.

I’m never going to be done bitching about online poker until the United States people have the freedom to play anyone in the world.

Lots of other things are going on in my life but some of them I just don’t want to air in public, not that anyone reads here anymore because I’m a slacker poster (OK, I know a few loyal diehards do, thank you for stopping in).

I read a WSOP report that Phil Hellmuth didn’t know he was playing Day 2A and his short stack was getting shorter since he hadn’t appeared and the blinds were taking their toll. But Mike Matusow had security go to Hellmuth’s room and break in to alert him.  He made it back to around 7,000 in chips and by the end of the day had worked them back up to about 36,000. And yeah, I was LMAO about it.  Matusow and Hellmuth watching out for each other?

There are never enough hours in the day and I’m out of the allotted ones that are promised to keeping my eyes open.  G’nite.
