I had no choice and it was my first miss since it all began way back when. The way things are running right now, I have no idea if my head is on straight or glued on backwards, not that it matters, it is what it is. I’m too busy to leave home and hoping it eases up soon. I missed seeing all the blogging friends I’ve met over the years, and I’m hoping to find reports soon of the festivities and pictures too.
On the home front, the weather has been incredibly wonderful and perfect for running errands and hanging out in the great outdoors. I haven’t been hanging out but I have been in and out on errands so it works well. I’m still fixing at my soon to be new digs. Yes, when I move, I’m going to put the coach on the market and give up the idea that I will ever go traveling in search of poker action and writing about it. Everything just went the opposite way of my first laid plans. If the world hadn’t went whacky and the old digs had sold, it would’ve been different. But then it went from bad to worse, diesel went up to over $5 a gallon and nothing about road tripping was feasible for me. It takes a lot of dough to get out haul the coach down the road, even if you never need a repair or have any problems, it’s costly. Single grannies usually don’t have a shit load of money – at least this one doesn’t. So that chapter is closing.
I can’t help but laugh at our politicians, especially after reading Glenda’s letter to her Senator Dianne Feinstein. Too bad these people have no clue what poker really is. And then the fact that they scream about protecting the children and the addicts, like they aren’t already playing unprotected?
I am still trying to improve my game and my Full Tilt bankroll playing the Daily Dollar. It’s tough to wade through over 9K players but it’s fun and I’m up for it. It starts about the time I’m married to the computer for the night working on PokerWorks. And speaking of PokerWorks, a shameless plug for the Lock Poker promotion we have going on with them right now. It’s 40K worth of freerolls and pro bounties, take a look.
Rambling on, today is sweet Kayanna’s 14th birthday. Yesterday she was a little cutie that screamed and threw her arms out to me whenever she saw me. Now she lives in Oklahoma and probably has visions of a boyfriend leaping through her head…what the hell is it with time anyway?
I watched a coyote prance down the street the other morning as he disappeared like he was heading for town, I went on about my business in the house. About 20 minutes later I caught a bushy tail go by my window out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was the coyote heading back out through the mesquite to the desert, but within a few minutes I saw the coyote following the bushy tail. Then I did the, ‘must be two coyotes’ until I looked out another window. The first bushy tail was a big German Shepherd, the coyote was pacing him – about 50 yards behind him. The coyote was as big as the Shepherd. The tails disappeared off down the road and I’m kind of guessing the Shepherd was the reason the coyote came in off the desert. Scary…those bastards pack and my home turf is actually theirs too. Dogs should never go to the desert alone.
So…I’m still in the Dollar – and so is Glenda, we are railing each other. Laters.
