Our last PokerWorks Family HORSE tourney (for the summer) played out with six of us.  Clearspine was in the game but not…he was in sit-out mode and came back when we were down to three to explain that he’d been involved in a family discussion and missed the tourney.  He told us to enjoy his money and djhomeschool said he would – and he did since he won it!

Interestingly strange, djhomeschool never once mentioned his latest Value Cube Pod Cast.  Way weird!  He is coming to Vegas in August for Barge and it’s possible we will meet.

I hit the big city of Pahrump on Friday afternoon.  I’ve been kinda moping around because momparental is off somewhere that no one can get to but her and she is doing the Riot Protection Plan – from who and what is for the Gods to answer – they may be able to find a clue somewhere but the rest of the world can’t.  I was supposed to be able to pick him up for the trip out for a few days but that all went south.  He was allowed to call me on Saturday so we spent almost an hour talking about dragons…yah, we know what’s important.

Tomorrow – Monday – I will be going back to Vegas and the digs that Gary and Marie so graciously loaned out to me.  I may stay until the end of the WSOP this time.  I want to hang out for most of the main event…since I don’t have the funds and didn’t find a seat (yes, I tried online quite a bit), I may as well do the next best thing and inhale the heat and excitement of the whole thing by being there.

The Women in Poker Hall of Fame is open for voting with six nominees for 2010.  You can vote here. I can’t help but wonder if some guy is going to protest and have a bitch-fit because he wants to be included in the nominees – yah, it’s a subliminal mind warp back to the Ladies Event.

One of the truck driving duo just had hip replacement surgery on Thursday, it wasn’t my sis, that should give a hint as to which one it was.  Monte came home today.  He had on those fancy looking white compression stockings that went up past the knees and managed to look pretty chipper as he pushed the walker through the gravel driveway to the steps up to their house.  Damn!  I kind of got the creepy shivers just thinking about the whole process…like pounding the new joint down into the bone. He said that so far there has been very little pain and it’s not been that bad.

It will be at least a two month or longer recovery process before he can drive again.  My landmates are in to stay for awhile this time.

The WSOB takes place this Friday, the 2nd of July, with a charity poker tournament to benefit the Boys and Girls Club held at the Golden Nugget.  The tournament starts at 4 p.m. with a pool party and fireworks show to follow.  Please make it a point to go and play.  MOI has fallen from grace and is not going this year, and possibly never going again but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go, it’s a great event and great cause.

A prison being built in Pahrump????  Yikes!  I’m not in love with that idea.  But I wasn’t asked for my opinion.

The family reunion is less than a month away.  It feels a bit strange this year.  I’m leaving my home at home and going back to tenting it and sleeping in a sleeping bag.  Umnhhhh!  Way weird.
