RIP 128 Hyman Pl, Las Vegas NV. All that river rock, yard work, fantastic feng shui gone, down the eternal toilet of life. Flush…whoops, there goes thousands of dollars and 11 years of my life. A-h-h-h-h-h-h well, it’s not the first ending in my life that had a lot of entrails and trauma headaches attached to it – but no tears on this one. I’m just happy it’s over.
But let me do the brain exploder before I leave it in the dust of the history of time. I had many conversations with Bank of America…yeah, you assholes know exactly who you are and I’ve talked to a lot of people that you carried paper on and you did the same thing to them…I owed over $240k on the house and the value, about the time it was foreclosed on, was around 135K and it needed a new kitchen, new garage door, and bathroom work. I asked every time I talked to one of their representatives why they wouldn’t lower the principal balance, give me a lower interest rate, and work with me to keep it. NO CAN DO sweetcheeks…you don’t qualify for none of them thar mystery government programs that allow people to stay in their homes. No one I’ve talked to qualifies for them so they are either nonexistent or BofA has a land grabbing plan in mind or the government is shoveling so much money to them that they don’t have a problem for a house going to auction and probably selling for around 70K when paper says they are losing $150k on the deal. Go figure! The property now belongs to Fannie Mae, which is probably part of BofA. Yah, I’m too lazy to go searching. Anyway, the house is part of the past now and it’s really a relief – you’d have to have witnessed the whole inside scoop of fast lane reality to really appreciate what a relief it is.
On to other rambles, my oldest boy Dan had a birthday on Monday, the 10th; my truck driving sis became a great grannie on the 9th (she beat out all of the rest of us with that honor), my next door hiking buddette is having a birthday today…gotta love those taureans…and I do.
I played the Battle of the Bloggers Tournament courtesy of Full Tilt Poker and Alcanthang on Sunday, the 9th. NG! No, not Evelyn dumb butt, it stands for NO GOOD! Impatience was my middle name in that tourney. I tried to jam it up a few times with A-X suited and got nowhere. Then I went all-in with…you guessed it…another A-X suited and hit a four flush on the flop, I believe my opponent had Q-Q. I didn’t hit anything and was out at around 90th or something.
A few hours later it was the PokerWorks Family HORSE tournament. Yah, you know the one…it happens every two weeks and I post all the info you need to join us here and on the forum and usually in the PokerWorks News Flash. If you missed it last time, get the hell in gear and join us the next time. Life is too short to let a fun, donkfest poker game go by.
The order of finishing:
1 – NumbBono
2 – muchtim
3 – BuddyDank
4 – desertblade
5 – DontKnow
6 – djhomeschool
7 – pnltbx20
8 – PokerHack07
MOI was the bubble girl. I hate this part – not being the bubble in this tournament – but the part that the pot sits on some of the table text and my brain went to 7 Card Stud 8 – it was 7 Card Stud. I actually won the hand before by starting very low and making a 6 high straight. My excuse? I thought it was 8 or better, so when I won that pot and got involved in the last one, I made the low right away. See Ya!
We had some chat rocking back and forth, mainly with djhomeschool and me but when we got down to four handed, those boys DO NOT chat…they play poker. I tried to listen to the BuddyDank show but NumbBono said it was a server crash. This is the first time I’ve left one of our family tourneys before the last card was dealt, I gave up when it hit heads-up…simply too tired to stay and sweat it out. Sorry guys…I’m a slacker.
Thanks to all for coming and playing – and pnltbx20, please come and play with us every time.
And so ends the ‘ramblin’ on’ episode for the day. There’s more, just time for me to be someplace else right now.
Listening to Lil Uno
I watched the 60-minutes one that discussed this very topic. It is a sin where honest folks have to go against what they were taught and how they wish to act. The end result of all this damages all parties.
BoA isn’t unique. It is just and indication of what “consolidation” brings. We just chatted about my problems with FullTilt. I won’t even enter a Walmart after them costing me over $600. My mortgage is now BoA after Countrywide went belly up.
In ‘the good old days’ we both remember, the banker was down the street. He might not give us everything we wanted but when there was a problem we could man up and sit down with a human being who had some authority to make a decision for us. And, usually both parties ended up profiting.
Today, it is all a bureaucracy where those we can ‘talk to’ are bound by policy and penalized for adversely affecting the bottom line. That old banker could see that a little flexibility led to a profit down the road. That is ignored in today’s environment.
