On to more poker news:  I got a ping from The G around 3 p.m.  He was in Las Vegas and going to play the Doubles Championship at the Golden Nugget and wondered if I wanted to come in and meet him.  It was extremely short notice considering I needed to shower (a total must), appear to be presentable to the public (which sometimes I’m not hanging out in the coach in nowhere desert land), and had to drive an hour and a half to get to downtown Vegas.  I decided to just do it!

I parked on the street, not far from the Nugget and the local jail/county buildings and threw what change I had into the meter…praying that a meter cop wouldn’t make it by there between 7:20 and 8 p.m. (not to worry, they did, and tagged me with a $20 ticket for parking on an empty street.  Woooot!)  Gotta love it!  Meters run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. but they don’t take $ bills.  Guess they will take your cc but I wasn’t in the mood

As I hoofed down the street, across from the detention center, one of the vans dropped off a guy in custom orange wear with cuffs behind his back and a nylon mesh bag over his head.  He was escorted inside by about 5 police.  I found out from good authority – later – that the bag is to keep a spitter and a pukers own spew inside the bag in case they are trying to decorate the police station/vans/police.  Kee-rist!  Not my idea of a good time.

Whoops!  I gotta go!  Have a date with a long time friend to enjoy the 6th annual World Poker Championship at his house.  I missed last year due to reasons I can’t remember but I made the first 4.  It’s always a treat.  Check Back!
